Exceptional View Into Life By The Mekong

Amazing half-day w/Ted, a native of Phnom Penh. We rode 23 miles/33ks along the islands. We visited a school, local outdoor market, 7-generational silk workshop, a pagoda, and got to see real life along the Mekong. The ride was suited for our biking skills and fitness level. The ferries were easy and Ted was an awesome guide, sharing facts and interesting details about the areas and diverse cultures of Phnom Penh. Our tour ended back in the city with a delicious lunch and cold beers. Highly reccommend this as a fantastic way to see the Mekong.

    A Bike ride to remember

We are in our 60s, reasonably fit bikers but not hard core so early pick up from hotel was ideal due to heat increasing over the day. Bikes were in good repair but one pedal was dodgy after leaving but the guide quickly swapped bikes with my husband . Give was Very patient with us both. A soft bike seat option would have been helpful but l managed. Aparantly it usually is available! Liked flexibility of time stops to refresh, rest, photos, or chat. Loved hand picked stops with family businesses and biking before and after helped process sights we were seeing. The severity of life there we observed plus calming countryside made it a manageable experience Guide was happy to talk and share opinions and beliefs Drinks and food snack delicious and most welcome..plus cool towels on arrival back to the depot

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phnom Penh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phnom Penh and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Phnom Penh?

    +

On Outty we rank every Phnom Penh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Tuol Sleng S21 and Choeung Ek Killing Field Tour, The Killing Field and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) Tour, Killing field and Toul Sleng genocide museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phnom Penh?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phnom Penh?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
