Waste of time and money. They steal your money and hide!

This is absolutely a horrible company. We booked this event, paid for transportation to the location provided. The driver could not find the place. I sent a text, no response. I contacted the booking company and they couldn't get ahold of the company either. They tried several times. I even asked the local police department where the location was. We walked around for 30 minutes, spend a long time chatting with the booking company and still never got any answers. To this day my messages and calls to this company have gone unanswered. HORRIBLE. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. Its a scam and sadly I am still fighting for the money I paid and will be out the transportation and time wasted forever! Maybe if they look at this review and are willing to refund I will be willing to remove the bad review.

Response from the operator: Updated Response: Client contacted me via private email clarifying she has booked with EXPEDIA and not with Viator, I dont have this Experience listed there. Original Response to Client: We are so sorry but…Unfortunately this was not us since we have no records of any booking in last months. I am positive you got us all wrong because we never got any messages as you described in your review. If you be kind to file a report directly with Viator to follow up on your case. They will provide details of such case and if your booking is found they will contact us for your claim verifying the existence of such reservation. They sure will give a positive fair response with the best solution for you. As I mentioned at the start of it no such reservation is shown on records for last months, too bad that your review had been left in here already. It would had been a great honor and pleasure having hosted you in our Cooking Experience. If it is allowed in here please respond with providing your booking/reservation number you got when purchasing this Experience and I personally follow up myself in your case.

Best cooking experience in Playa!

This was the best experience we have had in Playa Del Carmen! What a treat to be able to cook in a large restaurant kitchen and make more traditional recipes in this 3.5-4 hour cooking experience. This is not just guacamole, salsa, and enchiladas. We made tamales that changed my mind about tamales and I can't wait to recreated them back home. Fransisco is a wealth of information about Mexican culture and cuisine. We also had 2 helpers, Lily and Francisco (#2), that were wonderful, as they kept us ready for each dish and hydrated with a delicious minted fruit drink.

Food and Culture!

It was an amazing experience! A real mix of culture and food traditions in Mexico. From the antojitos to the main dish, the experience blended the foods with the culture that maintains them. We had a great time, and would go again, for sure!

If you pick one thing, do this!! 10 stars

If I could leave 10 stars, I would!! We had such a fantastic time with Francisco learning about the history and making authentic food. Liliana and Chef were fantastic - we would repeat the experience any time we are back in Playa del Carmen. We have already recommended to our friend and family. If you do nothing else, book this trip!!

Response from the operator: Thanks Rebecca, It was super fun and lovely hosting you both. Now Louis can try doing some cooking at home too, he did very well. We appreciate you recommendations and we'll be honored to host your friends and family in the future, cheers!

PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.

How much does PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience cost?

+

Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.

Is PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 11. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does PDC Traditional Mexican Cooking Experience start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?

+

On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
