If You Are Nervous About Booking Your Scotland Trip...Don't Skip This!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Incredible Scotland Adventure — Spirit Journeys Worldwide Went Above and Beyond! I don’t usually take the time to write long reviews, but this trip deserves one. My mother-in-law and aunt recently traveled to the UK and Scotland with **Spirit Journeys Worldwide**, and from everything they shared with me, this was so much more than just a vacation. It was an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. What really made this trip exceptional was Julia and the way she planned and coordinated everything. Planning an international trip—especially one involving multiple cities, hotels, trains, tours, transportation and changing locations—can be overwhelming. Julia took that stress away. She created an itinerary that allowed them to see and experience so much without making the trip feel chaotic or exhausting. And when you're traveling with family members who want to enjoy the experience rather than worry about logistics, that is priceless. ❤️ Julia — The Perfect Person Behind the Journey From the planning stages through the actual trip, Julia was incredibly attentive and thoughtful. You could tell that this wasn't simply about booking hotels and checking destinations off an itinerary. She genuinely cared about creating a memorable experience for them. The accommodations were beautiful, the transportation was thoughtfully arranged, and the excursions were carefully selected. There was also enough free time for them to slow down, explore and enjoy each destination instead of feeling like they were constantly running to the next activity. That balance made such a difference. Julia also created an itinerary that felt luxurious without being stuffy and adventurous without being overwhelming. And Then There Was Paul… I have to give a HUGE shout-out to their Scotland tour guide, **Paul**. He was one of the biggest highlights of their trip. Paul wasn't just someone who drove them from one place to another. He brought Scotland to life. The history, stories, scenery, castles and little details along the way became part of the adventure because of his knowledge and personality. Having a private guide who knows the area makes such a difference. Instead of simply looking at a beautiful castle or landscape and taking a picture, they understood the history and stories behind what they were seeing. And according to my mother-in-law and aunt, Paul was also just a genuinely wonderful person to spend time with—which is pretty important when you're traveling together for days! 🏰 Scotland Was Everything They Hoped It Would Be The Scottish portion of the trip was absolutely spectacular. They experienced Edinburgh, the Highlands, Inverness, the Isle of Skye, Oban, Tobermory, Iona, Loch Lomond and more. The scenery was breathtaking, the castles looked like something out of a movie, and the little villages and coastal areas gave them a completely different perspective of Scotland. The Isle of Skye was particularly memorable, and having Paul there to guide them through the Highlands made the experience even more special. ✈️ The Logistics Were Seamless One of the things I appreciated most about Spirit Journeys Worldwide was that my family didn't have to worry about all the little details. Hotels. Transportation. Train travel. Tours. Guides. Excursions. Getting from one destination to the next. All of those details can become exhausting when you're planning a trip like this yourself. Spirit Journeys Worldwide handled those logistics so my mother-in-law and aunt could simply enjoy the journey. And that's exactly what they did. Would I Recommend Spirit Journeys Worldwide? Absolutely. Without hesitation 1000 times! If you're considering a trip to Scotland—or really any destination where you want a thoughtfully planned, personalized experience—I would highly recommend talking to Julia MacLeay at Spirit Journeys Worldwide. The biggest compliment I can give is this: I wasn't the one taking the trip, but hearing my mother-in-law and aunt talk about it made me feel like I was there with them. They came home with incredible memories, beautiful photographs and stories they will be telling for years. Julia created the journey, and Paul made the Scottish adventure come alive. Thank you, Spirit Journeys Worldwide, Julia and Paul, for giving them such an incredible experience. Scotland will definitely be one of those trips our family talks about for a very long time. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Hebridean Way Cycle

An excellent experience from start to finish with Spirit Journeys Worldwide. A friend and I arranged a week-long cycle of the Hebridean Way, Spirit Journeys took care of all the planning, accommodation, bike hire, ferry crossings and luggage transfers between stops - so smooth - and a phone call away if needed. We just enjoyed the cycling without the hassle. And because of luggage transfers, we were able to buy whisky, Harriss tweed etc along the way. A highly recommended way of doing things and an excellent experience - 5 stars.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review. We are absolutely delighted to hear that you and your friend had such an excellent experience cycling the Hebridean Way with Spirit Journeys Worldwide. It was a real pleasure to arrange the planning, accommodation, bike hire, ferry crossings and luggage transfers for you, so that you could simply enjoy the cycling and the beautiful islands without the stress of the logistics. We love that the luggage transfers even allowed you to pick up whisky, Harris Tweed and special memories along the way. Thank you again for your kind words and 5-star recommendation. The Hebridean Way is such a special journey, and we are so pleased we could help make it smooth, enjoyable and memorable from start to finish. Kindest Regards Julia and Lynda

A Great Guided Tour of Scotland

We visited Scotland for our 45th wedding anniversary with a chauffeur/guide. We worked with Julia to develop an itinerary based on the places we wanted to see. She put together a plan that met our needs but had flexibility to change as we went. We visited Edinburgh, Inverness, Skye island, and more lowlands and highlands. So beautiful. Will, our guide, was well versed in the history and knowledge of the clans and Scotland over all. Everyday he would adjust the plan and make suggestions based on weather, location and time. We saw more than we expected. We were very pleased such a great trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review, and congratulations again on your 45th wedding anniversary. We are truly honoured that you chose to celebrate such a special occasion with us in Scotland. It was a pleasure working with you to create a personalised itinerary around the places you most wanted to see, and we are delighted that the flexibility of the trip allowed you to enjoy even more along the way. Edinburgh, Inverness, the Isle of Skye, the Lowlands and the Highlands are all incredibly special, and it is lovely to hear how much you enjoyed exploring them. We are especially pleased to hear your kind words about Will. His knowledge of Scotland, its history, clans and landscapes adds so much to the journey, and we are delighted that his daily suggestions helped make the experience even better. Thank you again for travelling with us. We are so pleased you had such a memorable anniversary trip, and we would be delighted to welcome you back to Scotland in the future. Kindest Regards Julia and Will

I Do Not Recommend Spirit Journeys Worldwide

After months and months of arduous and confusing planning with Spirit Journeys Worldwide, we were all hoping for the best when we actually arrived in Scotland. This, unfortunately, did not happen. My family and I spent hours and hours on the bus only to reach destinations when they were not yet opened, or just ready to close. What time we actually did have to see the countryside or castles was limited by the chaotic scheduling. The most unbelievable thing happened when we arrived at Edinburgh Castle and the entire day’s tickets were sold out. Shockingly, our SJW agent had not procured entrance tickets in advance. Eleven of us had traveled all the way from the U.S. and did not get to see Edinburgh Castle! I would not recommend Spirit Journeys Worldwide.

Response from the operator: Firstly, I want to express how truly sorry I am to read your review and to know that your experience with Spirit Journeys Worldwide did not meet your expectations. I am genuinely heartbroken that, after months of planning, your family’s trip did not unfold as you had hoped. However, I would like to offer some important clarifications regarding the points you’ve raised: Edinburgh Castle Entry: The itinerary you confirmed with us did not include pre-booked Edinburgh Castle tickets, nor were they invoiced. While this omission was not an oversight on our part, I fully understand how disappointing it must have been to arrive at the castle and find it sold out. Itinerary Planning & Logistics: Your itinerary was developed through eight different itineraries, each designed to reflect your family’s specific requests. Our intention was to accommodate the many places and activities you wished to include. Our records, including driver logs and bus tracking data, indicate that your group did spend time at the planned destinations and did not spend excessive hours on the bus. You also mentioned in earlier correspondence that this trip was designed to accommodate a diverse family group, and our team worked hard to incorporate everyone’s preferences and requests. While I deeply regret that your family’s trip fell short of your expectations, please be assured that we are taking your feedback very seriously. We have also sent you a detailed summary of events by email, outlining our internal review. I sincerely hope that, despite these issues, your family found moments of joy and connection during your time in Scotland. Our team is committed to learning from this experience and ensuring that future travellers receive the level of service we strive for. Warmest regards, Tour Manager Spirit Journeys Worldwide

I traveled with a friend. she and I enjoyed our accommodations and the food was beyond what we expected.

The ceilidh on the last night of our trip was spectacular. We met characters from the Outland series, we ate authentic food from the Scottish Highlands and we danced all night. The castle was beautiful and The Bard sang for us. A Sassenach's dream!!

How much does Outlander Tour of Scotland - 8 Days / 7 Nights cost?

    +

Prices start at $2,721 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Glasgow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

Is Outlander Tour of Scotland - 8 Days / 7 Nights worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Glasgow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Outlander Tour of Scotland - 8 Days / 7 Nights?

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Outlander Tour of Scotland - 8 Days / 7 Nights suitable for kids and families?

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Outlander Tour of Scotland - 8 Days / 7 Nights?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Glasgow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Glasgow and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Glasgow?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Glasgow?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
