What you'll see and do

  1. Ourika Valley

Ourika Valley is a valley in the Moroccan High Atlas along the Ourika River. It is located around 30 km from Marrakech, and is essentially populated by Berber people speaking Shilha. Despite its proximity to Marrakech, it is still considered a relatively well-preserved valley, by its very nature a and traditional mountain way of life. 05 minutes for shooting

  2. Tnine Ourika

This interesting souk is open every Monday. To avoid finding yourself with the tourist buses coming from Marrakech, it is better to come early when the atmosphere is much more authentic. Tnine l'Ourika is located on the edge of the river, you can access it by a small road on the left (3 km). Soon you reach the crossroads with the road to Tahanaout, to the west. If you want to turn off towards Taroudant or the Col du Tizi n'Test, now is the time. As for us, we advise you to continue towards the Ourika by turning left; it is from there that the spectacle of the green nature of the valley begins. You can, if you wish, take the fork and go to Dar Caïd Ouriki, a village where nothing is to report, except the ruins of an old kasbah. The main road has many pleasant surprises in store for you.

    30 minutes here

  3. Setti Fatma and the 7 Cascades

When you get there to Setti fatma is a thirty-minute stiff walk from Setti Fatma takes you to the first of the seven cascades – and you really must be well-shod for this. If your leaning is more to relaxing than walking, you can enjoy a freshly-made tajine at one of the riverside restaurants.

Day trip to the Ourika valley with lunch by the river, spectacular scenery, and a delicious lunch by the river

This was an amazing trip, up a narrow gorge along a road that winds through small villages and climbs higher and higher. You definitely need an experienced driver because the road is narrow and on the edge of a cliff. I highly recommend Soufian Laamiry. He specializes in tours going over the Atlas Mountains. He stays calm and always shows good judgment when negotiating tricky road conditions, so that you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views and not worry. The highlight of our outing was lunch at a restaurant at the edge of the river, down a long stairway from street level. Soufian, apart from his skill as a driver, is charming company. He speaks English and French fluently. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Response from the operator: Thank you dear client for your exellent review we appriciat your comment on us. thanks a lot

Absolutely Incredible! A***

We had the best day experiencing this tour and the beautiful culture of the Berber Villages. We could not recommend this enough, we were two woman on our own and felt incredibly safe! We stopped off and experienced how argan oil is made, rode a camel, visited a true Berber home and much more! It was planned perfectly and we were really well looked after! Cannot recommend enough

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, we wish to see you again in another experience.

Unique experience into the surprising Ourika valley

Mohammed was a great and knowledgable driver (with a clean and comfortable family van), who knows the region by heart, as his family comes from there. He can take you to places away from the tourist crowd. Can highly recommend him and the agency.

Response from the operator: Hi Mr David, Thank you for your excellent review, we delighted to hear from you. We wish to see you again for another experience.

Breathtaking experience with the most friendly, patient, knowledgeable guides

Our private day trip with Soufian was awesome! He picked us up on time and carefully answered the host of questions we had along the drive up to Ourika Valley from Marrakech. He arranged an equally amazing local (Berber) guide who took us hiking up the Atlas mountain. The hiking guide was super friendly, patient and knowledgeable. He showed us some of the most wonderful views and shared so much of their beautiful culture. Soufian then took us on a ride through the Atlas Mountains to see even more amazing views - always willing to make stops along the way. This was a breathtaking experience like no other, and I wouldn’t want to do it with any other guides.

Response from the operator: Hi Dear client, We hope everything goes well with you, thank you for your excellent review for us and we are glad to hear that from you. We wish to see you again for another experience, for you, your friends or family. Thank you Best wishes

A wonderful day trip to ourika valley and the atlas mountains.

My wife and I, we booked a day trip from Marrakech to ourika valley and atlas mountain with MARRAKECH FIRST TRIP Agency, departure was at 10:00am stopped in a Berber house and a cooperative of Argan then another stop fro shooting. When we arrived to the end of the road in a village called setti fatma, we found our mountain guide that he escorted us for 2 hours of hiking really our trip was fantastic. And our lunch was near the river in local restaurant. Thank you team We highly recommend

Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $9 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech & Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
