Bring cash for TIPS, Everyone will ask for them. Total tourist trap
Our stop at this attraction was included as part of an island trike tour—and, in hindsight, it was the kind of detour I wish I had skipped entirely. Had I researched it beforehand, it never would have made my itinerary. The experience was advertised as a cultural showcase featuring four distinct stops: tequila tasting, Mayan fire dancers, pork tacos, and a chocolate-and-honey tasting. On paper, it sounded promising. In reality, it felt more like a carefully orchestrated sales pitch disguised as an excursion. The tequila tasting offered five or six flavors, each served in portions so small they barely covered the bottom of the cap. While some varieties were enjoyable, the real focus quickly became the price tags. Bottles started well above $100, and guests were encouraged to purchase multiple bottles as bundles. Before long, the spotlight shifted from tequila to TIPS, with an extended explanation about tipping and a prominently displayed tip jar impossible to ignore. The Mayan fire dancers delivered a performance that lasted only a few minutes. While the performers were talented, the presentation felt rushed and lacked the authenticity many visitors hope to experience. Once again, the most memorable part of the show seemed to be the oversized TIP jar positioned front and center. Next came the pork tacos. They were flavorful enough, but each was barely larger than a bite-sized appetizer. If you arrive hungry, don’t expect this stop to satisfy your appetite. Conveniently, TIP jars were once again within arm’s reach. The final stop, the chocolate and honey tasting, was perhaps the most disappointing. Guests received tiny samples—a chocolate piece no larger than a baking chip and a small drop of honey on a wooden tasting stick. Afterward came the sales pitch: chocolate bars roughly the size of a standard candy bar priced around $15 and one-ounce portions of honey for $12. And yes, another request for TIPS. By the end of the tour, a clear pattern had emerged. Every stop seemed designed less to celebrate local culture and more to encourage purchases and gratuities. What could have been an engaging and authentic island experience instead felt like a series of transactions wrapped in tourist packaging. If you’re visiting the island with limited time and budget, there are far better ways to spend both. This experience left me feeling underwhelmed, over-sold, and wishing I had chosen almost any other excursion instead.

We were told there was a cenote - there is not. it is a concrete pool. It is all just a big sales pitch - over priced tequila, honey, chocolate and super small sample of a pork taco. The mayan dancers were about 4 minutes only and then they take a "welcome photo" and try to charge you $40 for it. It is a rip off. Go to the beach instead. It is a tourist money grab.

Tourist trap - nice products, but overpriced, and not really a cultural experience
While we were treated with respect and kindness, and we did enjoy the tequila tasting (the tequila genuinely is very good, and I barely drink), frankly, it was just a series of small stores... Tourist trap - beware! We did not see a show (we seemed to arrive right as one finished and by the time we left about a half hour later there hadn't been a second one), and we did not do any of the classes or cooking. Tequila isn't even made in this part of Mexico - it all comes from Jalisco!
