Qixing Mountain
Yangmingshan National Park is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan and home to a big number of diverse fauna, flora and hiking trails which give access to several mountains. The most famous one and tallest in north Taiwan being Qixing mountain, with a height of 1,120 meters. In addition, Qixing mountain is the highest non-active (dormant) volcano in all of Taiwan. This national park, within the city limits, has an extension of more than 113 square kilometers. Due to this fact, it’s easy to find areas with geothermal activity, such as hot springs, steam columns that emerge from the ground and sulfur deposits while walking around the park. Its valleys, cherry blossom and numerous trails are also famous.

10/10 experience
Guide Cristian was phenomenal! He was super talkative and personable. The hike was definitely strenuous and is a great challenge! I highly recommend this tour for outdoorsy enthusiasts! The views were well worth it and just a wonderful park!

Beautiful national park
Yangmingshan National park is not far from Tapei and the drive up to the park is beautiful. It started to rain but we were still able to hike. Unfortunately it rained a little too hard so tour guide came up with a different plan. We still hiked and saw all the important points that was part of the tour. Its a beautiful park and worth the visit. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to provide a historical background of the park and of Taiwan

Perfect Day Hike
This is the perfect day hike from Taipei. I opted for the extended route and it was challenging to me, but I am so happy that I did. The scenery and views were phenomenal and magnificent. My tour guide made sure that everything was perfect. I was not smart and did not bring any snacks and he gave me his food and water to make sure I was okay along the way. Where I’m from that’s called Southern hospitality. You will not regret this day hike.

Fab hike in Yangmingshan
We had a spare day in Taipei and Cristian took us (me and my two teenage boys) on a lovely hike to Qixing, the highest peak. Cristian was super patient and pleasant. Absolutely worth it, a fabulous day, highly recommend!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taipei.
How much does One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park cost?
+
Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taipei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taipei is not rushed.
Is One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Taipei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does One Day Hike around Taipei's Yangmingshan National Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taipei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Taipei?
+
On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Taipei?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Taipei?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
