Don’t do this
It was so long with nothing hutbhistorical facts . Great your a history buff but we wanted to know what we were seeing not a history lesson with dates all over the place . And no tour of the fortress…. She k we nothing to share with us You can totally walk this town on your own and enjoy it. Here is the gist: it’s Venetian influence so it looks a lot like Venice . Saved you a bundle!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review. We respect that not every tour is suitable for every traveler. However, we feel it is important to clarify that the experience you booked is specifically advertised as a History & Culture Tour. Its purpose is to explore the historical events, architecture, political influences, and cultural heritage that shaped Corfu over many centuries. Reducing Corfu's history to "it has Venetian influence and looks like Venice" overlooks the island's unique heritage, which includes Venetian, French, British, and Greek influences, as well as its UNESCO-listed Old Town and a history spanning thousands of years. Many of our guests choose this tour precisely because they are interested in understanding what they are seeing, not simply walking past monuments and buildings. For travelers seeking a shorter overview of the town without detailed historical context, a brief express tour may be a more suitable option. We appreciate your feedback, although we believe your expectations did not align with the nature of the tour that was booked.

A great tour to see the highlights of Corfu town
We had a fantastic tour of the best of the old town and historic areas of Corfu including all the major sites. Our guide, Maria, was delightful, extremely knowledgeable, and tailored the tour to our interests. She is a local, and was able to add so much. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and made the best use of our time there with this outstanding tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure showing you the highlights of Corfu and sharing its history and local stories with you. I’m so happy you enjoyed the tour and hope to welcome you back someday!

Great Day in Corfu with Angela
My husband and I recently toured the Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town with Angela as our guide. We chose the private tour which allowed us to hear the guide and adjust the tour to our needs. It was only a little more for the private tour and we were very glad to have chosen this option. We met Angela outside the Old Fortress about an hour after the cruise ship docked. (Taxi ride was a flat 20 euros from the port. Cheaper than an Uber. Another option is to walk from the pier to the meeting point is a 45 minute walk. City bus also takes 45 minutes.) Angela began with a brief history of the different dynasties that ruled Corfu during the time. We then explored the Fortress with her for a little over an hour. Her commentary was interesting and enlightening. She always made sure we understood and answered any questions we had. After touring the fort, we continued on to explore the Old Town. Angela's route was excellent. We saw things and learned about their importance that we never would have on our own. She also gave us recommendations on where to eat and shop after the tour. The way this tour is structured, we started at the Fortress which is farthest away. We ended up in Old Town which was a 15-20 minute walk back to the cruise ship. The three hours was perfect for us. We enjoyed spending the afternoon with Angela and recommend her as a guide while in Corfu.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the private tour experience and found the pace, route, and historical insights valuable. Thank you also for mentioning the practical details about transportation and the structure of the tour — I’m sure future travelers will find your tips very helpful.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Corfu.
How much does Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Corfu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Corfu is not rushed.
Is Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Corfu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Corfu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Corfu and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Old Fortress and Corfu Old Town: History and culture start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Corfu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Corfu?
+
On Outty we rank every Corfu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Food and Cultural Tour in Corfu, The Governor's Olive Mill Tour with Olive Oil Tasting, Electric Fat Bike Self Guided Tour Discover North Corfu. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Corfu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Corfu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
