    About this experience

THE El Toro Factory designed by Philippe Starck stands as the first author's mill in the world, fusing tradition, modernity and gastronomy in one place: the Sierra de Ronda. This space has been designed to highlight the culture and history of one of the emblematic products of Spanish gastronomy, with the collaboration of Philippe Starck, noted international designer. LA Almazara El Toro allows you to witness firsthand the process of growing and transforming olive oil into an avant-garde building that has its own museum, tasting areas or auditorium for events in an incomparable place, the Sierra de Ronda. The building is a unique architectural gem, with a structure inspired by the personality of Andalusia: austere, rigorous, real, exaggerated, timeless, strong, spiritual and passionate.

    Truly impressive

We visited La Almazara one afternoon around lunchtime and had a fantastic experience. The place itself is truly impressive, and Philippe Starck’s extraordinary architecture makes a huge impact from the moment you arrive. The combination of the striking design and the beautiful location surrounded by the Spanish countryside is something very special. You can explore with an audio guide on your phone, although we preferred simply walking around and experiencing the place at our own pace. Afterwards, we enjoyed a glass of wine on the beautifully designed terrace overlooking the valley – a perfect way to end the visit. Definitely worth a visit if you have an afternoon to spare while in Ronda!

Response from the operator: Muchas gracias por su reseña. Nos complace que haya podido disfrutar de La Terraza en nuestro restaurante. Saludos cordiales, Equipo Almazara El Toro.

    Beautiful building and interesting museum

What an amazing building and location! You need to lay to enter whether you do the tour or not, but to us it was well worth it, we did the audio guide and found it really interesting, LOVED the building which is like an art installation. Location and views are great. Agree with other reviewers, the girl in the shop was the most helpful staff member.

Response from the operator: Dear Jenny V, Thank you very much for your kind words. We are delighted to hear that you found the museum and the olive mill a wonderful experience, and that the audio guide was interesting and engaging. It is specially rewarding to know that our shop team was able to assist you and make your visit even more enjoyable. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to welcome you again in the future. warm regards, LA ALMAZARA.

    NOT WORTH IT!!!

DO NOT BOTHER, tour guide was very nice, but very rushed, half is Spanish for 2 people, 25 english speaking people on the tour, it was ridiculous to waste so much time with 2 Spanish speaking people, this is all known when people sign up for the tour. We were supposed to get a tour of the orchard where the olive trees and fields were, that did not happen. There was a BMW event going on at the same time, the restaurant was closed, even though it was not listed or told to us when we booked, we really wasted most of our day going here and were very disappointed, for 50 Euros we really felt ripped off (badly)

Response from the operator: Dear Kleeottorogers, Thank you for your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We regret that the pace of the visit felt rushed and that the explanation of the olive groves was not as thorough as it should have been. We also apologize for any confusion regarding the restaurant´s opening hours. Your comments are very important to us, and we will address them with our team to improve the experience. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Kind regards, LA ALMAZARA.

Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Malaga.

How much does Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro cost?

    +

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Malaga usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Malaga is not rushed.

Is Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 109 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Malaga, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro?

    +

Around 38 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Malaga can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Malaga and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Oil Tasting in Ronda : Almazara El Toro start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Malaga within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Malaga?

    +

On Outty we rank every Malaga experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Malaga City Tour 2 Hours Monumental Segway Tour, Taste of Malaga Tour : Tapas, History and Local Customs, Go local for a day!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Malaga?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Malaga?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
