What you'll see and do
Bonobo Winery
We usually Finale at Bonobo! Tour guests can buy flights, wine by the glass, bottles or join the wine club during the wine tour. A place where guests feel like Movie Stars, with wines you cannot wait to brag about and share... Bonobo Winery was founded by brothers and longtime Traverse City natives, Todd and Carter Oosterhouse. Stunning views, excellent wines and top notch customer service! Guests on our tours can sample expert level red wines like the BDX and a top shelf Pinot Noir. White drinkers can sample a bubbly Blanc de Blancs, top notch chardonnays and a Fume Blanc. This is the only winery on Old Mission Peninsula where our tour guests can sample a glass of whiskey! Frozen drink lovers can get a frozen lemonade lavender vodka based frozen drink. Guests can also get some amazing pretzel bites, an expert level charcuterie board or fried goat cheese (food depends on availability). This winery is one of the most memorable locations on our wine tour- it's quite an experience.

Grand Traverse Bay
Grand Traverse Bay is an arm of Lake Michigan. The bay is separated from the rest of Lake Michigan by the Leelanau Peninsula. The bay is some 32 miles long, ranges from 7 to 10 miles wide, and up to 620 feet deep in spots. It is the second-largest bay of Lake Michigan, behind Green Bay. Grand Traverse Bay earned its name from 18th-century French voyageurs who made "la grande traverse" or a long trek or crossing, across the mouth of bay. The most famous feature of the Grand Traverse Bay is the division into East and West arms by the Old Mission Peninsula. During this tour, on the way from Traverse City to Hawthorne Vineyards, our tour guests will see stunning views of the East Bay. Tour guests will be driven right along the shoreline at times. On the drive from Hawthorne to Bowers guests will see views of the West Bay. Tour guests will see views of both East and West Bays during the rest of the tour as well. A very large part of this award winning tour are the views!

Most memorable winery sunset tour ever!
Brian was the best winery tour guide ever! He took us to four amazing wineries and made sure we were at a particular one for the sunset which was unbelievably amazing! He was very knowledgeable, professional, and personable! We would highly recommend his tour and bring other friends with us in the future!

This experience was...
This experience was amazing! Felicia was our tour guide and she picked out 4 wineries that she thought best interested us. She was very personable in making conversation and had us all laughing. All choices she picked were spot on and had incredible views and one even had a corn hole set that you can play on. We really did feel like movie stars

We enjoyed seeing several...
We enjoyed seeing several wineries in the area. I would have loved learning more about their behind the scene processes, but this was not included. Consider bringing your own water as it was not provided when traveling between vineyards.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Traverse City.
How much does NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC cost?
+
Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Traverse City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Traverse City is not rushed.
Is NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Traverse City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Traverse City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Traverse City and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does NON-BUS Old Mission Afternoon / Sunset 3 Wine Tour - ICE COLD AC start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Traverse City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Traverse City?
+
Traverse City pairs Old Mission and Leelanau winery tours with Sleeping Bear Dunes trips, kayak and paddleboard rentals on Grand Traverse Bay and fall colour drives. On Outty we rank every Traverse City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 5-Hour Traverse City Wine Tour: 4 Wineries on Old Mission Peninsula, NON-BUS 4 Winery Traverse Wine Tour on Old Mission - ICE COLD AC, 5-Hour Traverse City Wine Tour: 3 Wineries on Leelanau Peninsula. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Traverse City?
+
June to October, with peak colour in early October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Traverse City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
