    Nobody shows up

We booked this and nobody shows up. We wait and wait and wait, no one shows up. Don't book this one its a waste of your money.

Response from the operator: Hello Erlinda, Your tour guide texted and left you a voicemail two hours before the tour yesterday, because it did not reach the minimum. We did everything within our power to communicate with you. We are so sorry that you apparently did not get those messages.

    Disappointing

We expected a walk alongside a tour guide who would tell us what we were seeing (buildings, ocean, the Cliff Walk itself) and share other information about Newport as well. Instead, the guide said he knew only a few things about a few of the houses, and he quickly walked ahead, stopping only a few times to assemble the group and talk.  The information is out there! While in Newport, we saw several books about the Cliff Walk that would have enabled an informative (not exhaustive) tour.

Response from the operator: I want to apologize for the disappointing tour you received. We expect all our guides to be very well-versed and provide you with an exceptional tour experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. It will help us improve the experience we deliver.

    Not worth it!

We booked thru Viator. No one showed up. We called and couldn’t initially find our booking. Then they found it and apologized. we walked the area by ourselves and it was just fine. I have been waiting for my refund.

Response from the operator: Upon reading your review, we have investigated the matter, and are not sure what happened here. There is never a time where our guides do not show up for a reserved tour. It is possible that your booking through Viator did not sync with our booking system. Also, since you booked through Viator and not directly through us, your refund comes from Viator, not us. We are sorry this happened. Everyone loves our Cliff Walk tour because you learn about the people and places you are seeing on the beautiful walk. We would have loved to given you the tour!

    Good Tour

The tour was very good. Our guide was new to the job but was very good. I think you should note when you are signing up that the entire walk is not paved, some is rocky and good shoes should be worn for this walk.

Response from the operator: We're so glad you enjoyed your Cliff Walk tour with us! Thank your recommendation on appropriate shoes!

Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Newport.

How much does Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Newport usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Newport is not rushed.

Is Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.2/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Newport, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Newport can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Newport and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Newport Cliff Walk Guided Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Newport within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Newport?

    +

Newport sells mansion tours along Bellevue Avenue, Cliff Walk history, schooner and sunset sails on Narragansett Bay, and food walks through the colonial waterfront. On Outty we rank every Newport experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Newport Gilded Age Mansions Trolley Tour w/ Breakers Ticket (8+), Newport Trolley Tour with Breakers Mansion - Viking Tours, Afternoon Grand Tour | Gansett Cruises in Newport, RI. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Newport?

    +

May to October, with sailing at its best in July and August. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Newport?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
