A wonderful evening
Great host , outstanding food and atmosphere . We went to three different restaurants. We were offered choices for our appetizers and entrees. The food was very tasty. Each part of the meal was accompanied with a lovely glass of wine.

Book this tour!
This was a fantastic food tour. We book food tours everywhere we go and this one did not disappoint. It's like going on a progressive dinner with strangers who become besties by the end of the evening. Long after our guides were gone, we were still sitting at the table laughing and sharing stories. The restaurants were amazing, the tour was informative and we made fun friends! Come hungry and book this tour!
Response from the operator: Thank you, we had a great group and lots of fun. It was our pleasure meeting you and your wife and we are always excited to show off our restaurants and beautiful, historic City by the Sea.

Four Courses, Wine Pairings, and Newport Charm: An Unbeatable Winter Stroll Experience
The Newport Foodies Winter Stroll is an exceptional value and a genuinely memorable experience. For one very reasonable price, you’re treated to a full, thoughtfully curated evening across four beautiful venues: a welcoming drink at the first stop, followed by appetizer, dinner, and dessert. Each course is paired with your choice of red or white wine along the way! Due to an unexpected pipe burst at the originally planned appetizer venue (Vieste), both the appetizer and dinner were hosted at Hooked instead. What could have been a disruption was handled seamlessly, and the execution was absolutely flawless. The pacing, quality, and coordination never missed a beat, and Hooked delivered on both courses beautifully. What really elevates the experience is the guidance throughout the evening. Sue and Tom are fantastic hosts, sharing interesting bits of local history, behind-the-scenes insights, and thoughtful commentary as you move from venue to venue. Their storytelling adds depth and personality, making the stroll feel curated and intentional rather than just a series of stops. The event feels seamless and immersive. You’re not just eating, you’re experiencing Newport. Portions are generous and well paced, and you will absolutely walk away completely full and satisfied. Between the food, wine pairings, beautiful settings, and engaging narration, it’s like dinner and a show but at a fraction of what you’d expect to pay for an evening this polished. The Winter Stroll delivers far more than it promises and is absolutely worth it.
Response from the operator: Thank you, it means so much to us to hear that our guests enjoyed the tour. Our restaurants appreciate this as well. Warm regards, Tom and Susan

A great dining experience
We recently took the evening Newport Winter Foodies Stroll. We've done a lot of food tours but this one was different - it was like a progressive dinner. We visited 4 different establishments, having a welcome drink, appetizer, main course, and dessert at different places, along with wine (choice of red or white) offered with each course. All of the food was excellent, and Sue and Tom, our guides, were delightful companions. We only had a short stay in Newport, so we appreciated being taken to restaurants that we knew would be outstanding. And it was nice on a busy Friday night knowing that we were expected and would receive a warm welcome without having to deal with making multiple reservations ourselves. The amount of walking between stops was just right, too. This was a very fun, entertaining evening, and we highly recommend this experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you Jean. It was gratifying to hear that you enjoyed the tour. Happy Holidays and Happy Travels. Best regards, Tom and Susan

Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Newport.
How much does Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History cost?
+
Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Newport usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Newport is not rushed.
Is Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Newport, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Newport can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Newport and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Newport Foodies Winter Stroll A Culinary Journey Through History start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Newport within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Newport?
+
Newport sells mansion tours along Bellevue Avenue, Cliff Walk history, schooner and sunset sails on Narragansett Bay, and food walks through the colonial waterfront. On Outty we rank every Newport experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Newport Gilded Age Trolley Tour w/ Breakers Mansion Incl.(Age 8+), Newport Trolley Tour with Breakers Mansion - Viking Tours, Afternoon Grand Tour | Gansett Cruises in Newport, RI. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Newport?
+
May to October, with sailing at its best in July and August. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Newport?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
