Seeing the unknown, historic New Forest area of England with a native born guide is a great tour.
Truly a memorable day, and one on the best tours ever. After reading Rutherford's THE FOREST book, and eager to learn more about this unknown area of England, I knew what I wanted to see and learn from the tour. Our tour guide, Oliver, is from that area and is a gold mine of information . Outlining with him what we wanted to see, he not only fulfilled my every wish, but filled out the tour with information only a resident would know. Yes, we did see free roaming horses in many areas we drove by. They definitely have the right of way, as cars would stop to allow their passage. I loved every minute of the tour and very highly recommend Oliver as your guide.

Best guide you can get!
It is highly recommended for anyone who wants to visit all the hotspots in one day. Driver Oliver was born and raised in this region and provides a tour in a friendly manner with a lot of interesting explanations about the landscape, nature, history and customs in The New Forest.

Day out in countryside
We really enjoyed the countryside, however Beaulieu looking at the National car museum and Top Gear exhibition and Palace House was a winner as well. Finished off with a delicious country pub lunch.

Great way to spend a day
Oliver was extremely knowledgeable of the area and flexible as to my itinerary. Highly recommend the tour, I would never have expected to see as many horses and donkeys just roaming freely.

The New Forest tour was wonderful!
We originally hired T & T for a transfer before and after our cruise out of Southhampton. During our drive from our Heathrow airport hotel to Southhampton we talked with Oliver about tours his company offers. We arranged to have a tour on the day our cruise ended that included a transfer back to our hotel near Heathrow airport. Oliver suggested the New Forest Area tour and what a good choice it was. The area is gorgeous and there are many attractions to choose from. Unfortunately it rained most of the day but it was still a great experience. Oliver was professional, extremely pleasant and a competent driver. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend this company, not only for private transfers but also for the private tours they offer.
Response from the operator: Good Afternoon, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your kind review, it helps a great deal. I’m so glad that you enjoyed your day and am sorry the weather made it not so enjoyable (lots of soggy, bedraggled looking ponies!) I hope that your journey home was comfortable and hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards, Oliver

New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Southampton.
How much does New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton cost?
+
Prices start at $425 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Southampton usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Southampton is not rushed.
Is New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Southampton, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Southampton can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Southampton and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does New Forest Day Out Private Tour from Southampton start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Southampton within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Southampton?
+
On Outty we rank every Southampton experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Journey Through Winchester's Past, Walk the Secrets of the Titanic, New Forest E-Bike Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Southampton?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Southampton?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
