Excellent half day tour of Nairobi National Park

We did the half day Nairobi National Park Tour. Overall it was an excellent experience. From the initial contact for quote, booking, and payment, the booking staff was very professional with quick responses including several followup questions from us. Communication was excellent and they stayed in contact via whatsapp. Our guide was Robert. He was superb. He picked us up directly at our hotel on time and with an excellent Land Cruiser. The tour through the park was just oustanding. Robert asked us what we wanted to see and since I was into photography, he planned lots of stops. He was incredibly flexible throughout the tour including and letting us know of exciting sightings we could divert and see. We started with white and black rhino sightings and then saw too many animals to list; we literally saw twice as many animals as expected, including a cheetah! We highly recommend this tour. We started at 5:30am which allowed us to be at the gate right before it opened. It was slightly chilly, so bring a light jacket. Also, be prepared to get a little dusty - mask or other nose/mouth covering is helpful. If you are a photo nut, bring a short zoom lens too as many of the animals are actually quite close. Again, excellent tour, very professional company, and Robert was an excellent guide and driver!

Knowledgeable and professional guide

Me, my husband and our baby went on a safari tour in Nairobi National Park with Kelvin today. We’ve been traveling a lot and this has been far one of the greatest experiences we’ve had. Kelvin was easy to reach on WhatsApp, which made communication before the tour easy and convenient. Kelvin’s knowledge of the park really gave us the best experience ever since we got to see so many beautiful animals. Also, Kelvin really took the time to explain everything about the animals to us and he had so much knowledge in each and every animal, which was really cool. We even got a quick tour of Nairobi city after the tour, which we really appreciated!

Our Safari experience in Nairobi Nat Park

This Safari was much more comfortable during drive than other 4x4 Van, as terrain is very Bumpy!! Highlight of our Safari was seeing Northern White Rhino Mum's with their Babies!! Several other tourist we heard was they was doing the he Masia Mara Safari but we declined doing that as too long as all day and temp was too hot that's if you can adapt!! Other thing was price had gone up to enter National Park from $38 to $80 per person in every entry!! I had bought £500 of Nairobi Shillings, to cover entry costs every time, but that was No good as that had all changed just day before we arrived to Nairobi so they Only accepted online booking to Nat Park!!

Vincent is an excellent tour guide

Today, I had the pleasure of touring with Vincent from Olengugih Safaris Ltd, and he was truly a professional. He patiently waited over 20 minutes at our hotel without a single complaint, which we were so grateful for. Throughout the safari, Vincent made sure we experienced everything it even rained, but he never hesitated to stop so we could take pictures. Vincent was humble, respectful, and kind. His knowledge of the animals was impressive; he seemed to know every single one we came across. What stood out most was the way other tour guides greeted and engaged with him. You could feel the genuine respect and love they had for him. If you’re planning a safari, I highly recommend booking directly with Olengugih Safaris Ltd and asking for Vincent, the true safari expert. Love from Brooklyn, NY ❤️

Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.

How much does Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep cost?

+

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.

Is Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Nairobi National Park Private Safari in a 4X4 Landcruiser Jeep start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi?

+

On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nairobi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nairobi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
