Nairobi highlights I wanted to learn about on my one free day there.

Solo female traveller has a great day out in Nairobi
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND I’m so glad I came across this tour group online when trying to find a way to get in to a sold out Sheldrick session. I never got on to the session, but after speaking with Grace I decided to sign up to one of the day tours to visit the Giraffe Centre, the Kobe Tough bead centre, Karen Blixen museum and Bomas of Africa. Aside from being so very well organised and well communicated, Grace and the team were so accommodating of me as I needed to leave the tour early. A new driver met up with us to pick me up and take me to the hotel and even helped take me to a pharmacist. I had 24 hours in Nairobi and I’m really glad I went with Gracepatt and had Wellington as my driver - who messaged me before the trip to confirm details, was totally across my need to cut the trip short and coordinated my pickup and to get me to a pharmacy.

Giraffes, Karen Blixen, Kazuri & Lunch
My friendly and knowledgeable guide Meshack picked me up on schedule from my hotel at 8AM. I liked that we were the first guests to feed the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre as I imagine it can get very busy. After that we went to the Karen Blixen house/museum which was fascinating followed by a visit to the delightful Kazuri Beads factory & shop. I then tried some local cuisine at the beautiful Bush Garden Restaurant nearby. My guide also kindly stopped at a few additional shops so that I could buy some souvenirs.
Response from the operator: Cathy we are grateful for such a good review . We believe you rely enjoyed you day with us.Thank you Meshack for a good job. We look forward serving you again in future.

Amazing must-see experience
I would definetely recommend this tour and especially if you have Stephen as your guide. This man is so kind and patient! He is also a good storyteller. So about our day: Stephen picked us up from the hotel at the exact time as he was supposed to. Then we went to Giraffe center and we were the first ones there. I would definetely say that start by going to the Giraffe center as early as possible to avoid all the other tourist. It was so nice and we took some really good pictures there alone with the Giraffes! This experience was the most amazing. Instead of just look at the animals you actually connect with them. Here again our tour guide took some really good photos from our phones! Then we went to the kazuri Beads. Important thing here to mention is that the workers are not here on Sundays. We knew that and it was still amazing to see how they worked and hear their history. Lastly, we went to Karen Blixen’s museum. So incrediable to see her actually house and her area. Later on Stephen was so nice to let us quickly go to a mall to eat and see some shops. Then Stephen was so amazing. Even though he did not had to he helped us to try to arrange a covid test. The thing is that after this tour we are in 4 days going to Zanzibar and before that we will have to be tested here first. Stephen called 3-4 guys and arranged everything for us so that it would fit into our schedule. Again, this man I would recommend him 10 out of 10 times. Asante sana Stephen!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Baran for giving us an opportunity to serve you and taking your time to leave a wonderful review. We are really grateful you had an amazing experience with our driver guide Stephen. We look forward to serving you again together with your friends in the near future.

Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Nairobi Highlights: Karen Blixen, Beads Factory & Giraffe Center Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
