About this experience
Nagarkot is located 25 miles east of Kathmandu, Nepal. It is on the northeastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley at an elevation of 6,800 feet above sea level. It is the most scenic spots renowned for its sunrise views of the Himalayas. You can see Mount Everest with its snow-topped peaks from an observation tower. The ancient Hindu temple of Changu Narayan is located on a high hilltop that is also known as Changu. This shrine is dedicated to lord Visnu and held in special reverence by the Hindu people. This temple is considered to be the oldest temple in the history of Nepal. Bhaktapur is the living representation of how the entire Kathmandu Valley would have looked like during the medieval periods. Its glorious architecture; sky-high temples built in pagoda style- the stairway to the heaven, fine clay pottery, and massive royal courtyards whose existence date back to the 12th century, where devotees, still, celebrate their pre-historic festivals by equal amount of gusto and passion.

Good tour but could be better on a clear day
Good tour. But weather wasn’t great so we did not see the sunrise we expected Nepal is a great place to visit

Decent tour
The weather was great for the sunrise view, although the hazy air pollution meant the view was not very clear, thus not really able to see Everest. The guide was knowledgeable and a decent driver. The sites were nice to see. The tour was about 4.5 hrs, 5am-9:30am, so not necessary for a lunch stop as noted.
Response from the operator: Dear Richelle, Namaste & Greetings from Liberty Holidays! Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us your valuable feedback and giving us the opportunity to serve you. It is our immense pleasure. We look forward to serving you with our best hospitality in the future too. Liberty Holidays Team

Amazing little private tour
I loved just touring the different squares and temples. It felt very catered to us. Our guide was very informative. He even took us to see healing bowls and to a grocery store to find some authentic goods.

Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square cost?
+
Prices start at $91 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Nagarkot sunrise with trip to Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
