Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu

Great tour. Krishna was very kind, knowledgeable and talkative and I felt safe with our driver. The views from the hike were exceptional and the length was just right. I would recommend this tour for people that don't have several days to devote to trekking but want to see the countryside.

For me and my hubby trip was great. We fall in love in Nepal. Krishna our guide was very patient and kind. There was a lot of beautiful views. Definitely we recomend a trip from this office. Thanks also for helping us with PCR test. Menager Uttam is also so nice and kind and we are lucky to meet him. Thx for everything.

A brilliant trek with Krishna and driver

Prompt start from our hotel at 8am. The driver expertly negotiated us through the traffic to Nagarkot. We were fantastically lucky because the sky was bright blue and we began to see stunning views of the Himalayas as we drove up the hills out of the valley. Next was the observation tower where we got almost uninterrupted views of the mountain range. It was absolutely fabulous that morning. The hike took us through some small typical villages and we met many local smiley people on the way. Most of the journey was downhill with only a small proportion climbing upwards. The hike was about 4 hours. At the end we visited the temple at Changunarayan having stopped for lunch of momos part way. Krishna was a very knowledgable guide and was able to answer all our questions. He knew all about the Himalayas, about the local history, countryside, local way of life and all about the temple we visited. A very pleasant day out and Krishna had a good sense of humour and he made the day come alive.

Day hike with Krishna

Beautiful!! Krishna took amazing care of us and was so friendly, knowledgeable and very funny! The tour included a delicious lunch with a lovely view of Kathmandu Valley after meandering down through the gorgeous rural hillsides. The Changu Narayan temple at the end was breathtaking, even with the post earthquake construction. And walking through the town to get there was delightful and we couldnt help but buy some nice gifts for our friends there.

Great tour with Krishna who was a terrific guide. Knowledgeable, patient, fun to be with, patient. And the hike allowed me to see some beautiful sites and small villages. Highly recommend!

Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu cost?

+

Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu?

+

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Nagarkot and Changu Narayan Hiking Tour from Kathmandu start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
