Amazing 3-night hike up to point Lenana
We did the 3-night hiking trip to point Lenana, up the Sirimon route and down Chogoria. The scenes were so beautiful, our guides were really nice and knew the mountain very well, and the service was next level, better than we could have ever expected. The whole team was really nice and made us feel welcome and looked after. There were very few people on the trail and we got to sit at the summit by ourselves for a good half hour after making it. 100% recommend for anyone who likes a good hike.

Couldn't have done it without the Bushtroop team!
Mt. Kenya is not an easy hike, but the Bushtroop team - especially our amazing guides Michael and Peterson and chef Steven - made it as positive an experience as it could be! Whether it was a shorter or longer day of hiking, our guides were always with us, giving encouragement and fun facts about the mountain, wildlife, and plants, and we always had our supplies and delicious, filling meals waiting for us even with the dietary restrictions in our group. We're thrilled and proud to have summited Pt. Lenana, but also recognize we could never have done it without the support we got from the whole team. Thank you!

GREAT guides and vegan meals!
My friends and I had an amazing time on this hike with our guides Michael and Petersen and the crew they put together. This is actually my 2nd time hiking Mt Kenya, and the first time I didn't have a great guide experience and I didn't reach the summit. This was the opposite experience! Our guides were encouraging, friendly, chatty, funny, receptive to our needs, and extremely supportive - and we made it to the summit together! The porters and chefs prepared amazing food, entirely vegan to meet our dietary restrictions, but they were hearty, filling, and flavorful so we didn't lack the protein and sustenance we needed to get to the top. In the main office, Jacqueline was responsive to our many questions during preparation, and we felt that even including tips this was a great value for 5 days all inclusive hiking, food, board, and transport. I highly recommend training for this trek and taking the extra day to acclimatize.

WONDERFUL MOUNTAI KENYA TREK.
I had such an amazing experience with my husband and friends. The team was very efficient at communication and we had an excellent guide, Michael. All covid protocols were observed and we still managed to enjoy the trek. Thank you so much for enabling us to make this new memories looking forward to coming back to Kenya and booking with you again.

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mount Kenya Trek: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does Mount Kenya Trek cost?
+
Prices start at $840 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mount Kenya Trek take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is Mount Kenya Trek worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Kenya Trek?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mount Kenya Trek suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mount Kenya Trek?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mount Kenya Trek start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate, 2 Days Amboseli Safari using a 4x4 Landcruiser jeep(with options), Kibera Slum Tour with Lucas. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Mount Kenya Trek?
+
Included: Lunch; and Breakfast. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Mount Kenya Trek include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 4 listed pickup locations in and around Nairobi. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Mount Kenya Trek offered in?
+
It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Mount Kenya Trek?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
Is Mount Kenya Trek wheelchair or stroller accessible?
+
The operator notes: Not recommended for pregnant travelers. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.
What happens to Mount Kenya Trek if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Nairobi. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.

Across 6 reviews averaging 5.0 out of 5, recurring themes include the guide, value for money. Travelers single out the guide as the reason the experience works. One thing to know: Expect real walking or climbing: reviewers mention the effort involved.
