    About this experience

Many trekkers used to go to Kailash Trekking via Simikot, once the border between Nepal and China (Humla) was opened in 1993. Humla is the most far-flung district located to the northwest side of the country Nepal. The route to Kailash trekking via Simikot is the shortest yet rewards you with amazing views and immense affluence in culture as well as history. Mt. Kailash, located at the height of 6714 m is also named as Tise, Kang Rinpoche, and Kailasa. It is considered sacred by the Buddhist, the Hindus, Jains, as well as the Bonpos. For the Hindus, the peak is the dwelling spot of Lord Shiva; for the Bonpos, Kailash was the holy nine-story Swastika peak burning from heaven; and for the Buddhists, the peak is a worldly ridge of the immense Mandala of Boddhisatvas and Dhyani-Buddhas, which things can see in this Kailash trekking tour. The Saga Dawa Festival going to celebrate on 05 June 2020 in Tibet (Mt. Kailash).

Excellent Trek from Simikot to Hilsa, then trek around Mt Kailash after Guge Kingdom visit

I started working with Raju over a year before doing this trek/pilgrimage. He has always been present, and has responded to all my requests and remarks with patience, and speed. When I finally arrived in Kathmandu, a few hours late, they were waiting for me at the airport, his kind sister and he, with a big smile. Throughout the 21 days I spent in Nepal and Tibet, I always felt it present, responding to all the little worries of a trip, a little out of the ordinary, and sometimes time. I really appreciated his professionalism, patience and kindness. The great pleasure I gained from this trip owes much to Raju.I am so satisfied that I will start again with him on a trek from Lake Rara to Khaptad NP, then by two days of photo safari at Bardiya NP. Thank you, Raju, and see you soon.

Response from the operator: Namaste ALDOGAILLAT, Thank you so much for your such a positive review on largest platform TA. Mount Kailash tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Mount Kailash tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $5500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mount Kailash tour take?

    +

Plan for about 528 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Mount Kailash tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mount Kailash tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mount Kailash tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 528-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mount Kailash tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 528-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mount Kailash tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
