Wonderful, eventful day tour
We had great people by our side with Reuben and Jackson. Everything was planned according to our wishes. I would give more than 5 stars. Next safari definitely with him.

Great day out
We had a great day.First went to an Artisan centre where hundreds of people hand carve wooden African animals, bowls, wall art and everything you see in souvenir shops in Kenya. The scene is very well organised and their goods are all put into a shop they then get paid for what is sold.Very interesting with lots of happy people.Prices are very good too. Then on to Fort Jesus and the guide was very nice.A walk around the old town then lunch at a nice restaurant. Also went to a wildlife park. All in all a very nice day.Tim our guide was excellent and Thomas the driver did a very good job too

Overpriced and boring
Nobody needs it and it's far too expensive. Fort Jesus is completely overrated. A ruin with a little history, you can always see the teeth when you drive through Mombasa and the terminal for the train from Nairobi to Mombasa is like a small airport terminal. Nothing to see and has nothing to do with Mombasa. The Chinese built it and keep it clean. So it's the only structure that looks decent. The rest of Mombasa stinks and is dirty.
Response from the operator: Sorry that you didn't feel good while in Mombasa. Unfortunately Your review is on the wrong platform and company profile. We did not have any tour together. But because you shared your personal view about Mombasa. I would like to remind you that this is Africa. We are not as developed as the European Countries. But I will for sure tell you one thing we live Much more happy Life than many in Developed countries. We are contented in the little we have, the stinking areas as you claim are amazing. And surely they also exists in many parts of Europe too. We maybe of different color and opinions but remember we are all Humans. Keep your pride low and the world will be a better place for us all. Thanks and best regards, Reuben Marl Safaris.

A pleasant day trip
We went recently on the day tour with Reuben and it was a very pleasant experience. After picking us up at the hotel we went to the "wooden crafts" village. It was intriguing to see how those men create art from scratch. Amazing! Of course, I had to buy a few items :-) After visiting the art village, we continued to Fort Jesus and Eric the guide was an excellent storyteller. He described all the events which took place at Ford Jesus in detail. The tour at the old part of the town consisted out of a walk through narrow streets, also filled with art shops and a view of the harbor. We finished the tour with a walk through Haller Park (Bamburi Nature Trail). Overall It was an amazing day filled with laughter. Reuben is a great host and we look forward to experiencing some of the other tours he has to offer. I recommend this tour, great value for the money spent!.
Response from the operator: Thanks a lot brother Daniel for your kind review, we look forward to having you in kenya again. It was indeed great having you on tour with us. Greetings, Reuben Marl - Marl Safaris Kenya

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Mombasa Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Diani Beach.
How much does Mombasa Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Diani Beach usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mombasa Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Diani Beach is not rushed.
Is Mombasa Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Diani Beach, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mombasa Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mombasa Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mombasa Day Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Diani Beach can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Diani Beach and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mombasa Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Diani Beach within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Diani Beach?
+
On Outty we rank every Diani Beach experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mombasa City Tour, Full Day Dolphin Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini, Full-Day Special Wasini Island Tour with Snorkeling and Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Diani Beach?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Diani Beach?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
