Fantastic day out despite the weather—whales, snorkeling, and great Veg Swahili food!

We spent three days in Diani and decided to book this day excursion. Even though the weather tried to play spoilsport early on, the skies eventually cleared up and made for a truly memorable trip. Once conditions improved, we were lucky enough to spot whales and enjoy some fantastic snorkeling along the reef, surrounded by vibrant coral and marine life. A massive thank you to the team at Thani Tours—especially Mohammed A and Mohammed B! They took great care of us throughout the day. A special mention goes to our guide for giving us a tour of his local village; meeting the kids there was easily a highlight of the entire experience. To top it all off, the traditional Vegetarian Swahili lunch was superb (we gobbled up every single bite). Highly recommend booking with them if you are visiting Diani!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re truly delighted to hear that, despite the weather at the beginning, the day turned into such a memorable experience for you. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we’re especially happy that you enjoyed the snorkeling, whale sightings, reef, and traditional vegetarian Swahili lunch. We’re also glad you enjoyed the village visit and meeting the local children — those authentic cultural moments are what make the experience even more special. A big thank you from Mohammed A, Mohammed B, and the entire Thani Tours team for choosing us and for your kind recommendation. We truly appreciate it and hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Diani!

    Wonderful

We had a wonderful time throughout the day. Dolphin watching, snorkelling in clean blue waters. Mohammed and the team were all very patient and helpful with the people who were afraid of the water. The small beach stop in the middle was amazing. Treats of tasty fruits and sodas in between were refreshing. Swahili lunch on the mainland was super delicious. Overall a very good experience right from pick up to drop to hotel.

We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed every part of your day, from the dolphin watching and snorkeling to the beach stop and the delicious Swahili lunch. We hope to welcome you back to Kenya for another unforgettable adventure with Thanni Tours! Asante sana,

Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mombasa.

How much does Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mombasa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mombasa is not rushed.

Is Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mombasa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini?

    +

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mombasa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mombasa and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full Day Dolphins Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mombasa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mombasa?

    +

On Outty we rank every Mombasa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mombasa City Tour, Walking Tour Through Old Town Mombasa and Fort Jesus, Visit to Fort Jesus and the Old Town of Mombasa. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mombasa?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mombasa?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
