    We'll be back again!

Great time watching turtles in their natural environment. The boat was very clean, the crew was fantastic and very attentive to each group on board. Great equipment, great briefing on expectations on the boat and in the water. The captain even followed some whales on our way back to port. Loved that the number of guests is limited far below the boat capacity unlike other groups we saw on the water. 5 🌟. We'll be back again!!

Response from the operator: Mahalo for joining us! We’re so glad you enjoyed the sightings and smaller group experience. What a bonus to spot whales on the way back! We appreciate the review and can’t wait to welcome you back again.

    Prejudice toward minorities

If you’re an experienced snorkeler who doesn’t need guidance or assistance, this tour might work for you. However, for beginners or families with children, I would not recommend it. There was no real safety orientation for first-time snorkelers, and as a couple with a young child, we struggled in the water with almost no support. Even though they claimed to have two lifeguards on duty, no one responded when I was exhausted, out of breath, and clearly signaling for help. I had issues with the equipment and was running low on air, and at one point I was waving near the boat asking for assistance while the lifeguards were busy chatting. When I finally managed to get myself close enough to call out for help, one of the staff members hesitated and seemed reluctant to help me back onto the boat. There was also an uncomfortable sense of bias in the way some staff interacted with us as minorities — it was visible in their attitude and demeanor. Overall, this experience felt unsafe and unwelcoming, and I would not book with this tour again.

Response from the operator: Hello,   First and foremost, we are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience snorkeling with us. Our mission is to create a safe and fun environment for passengers to experience Turtle Canyon and create memories that will last a lifetime. According to this feedback, however, it seems that was not your experience.   After speaking with the staff about your trip and feedback, we think it's important to shed a bit more light:       1    We don’t expect those who snorkel with us to be highly experienced snorkelers, though the agreement is that anyone who enters the water knows how to swim. Our staff noted that your group had difficulty swimming and spent most of the snorkel either on the raft or being helped back onto the boat. Because they noted that your group was having difficulty swimming, they made sure to keep an eye on you and help when needed. The captain also made sure your masks were fitted properly and, as always, went over all safety and equipment instructions with your group before entering the water. One of our staff members even went the extra mile to pull you while you were on the raft so that you could enjoy the turtle experience even though you were having difficulty swimming, and noted that you were very appreciative of that.     2    As a family business that is minority owned and operated, we can assure you we do not, and would not, employ any staff who racially discriminates against passengers. Each staff member has gone through a probationary period during onboarding, where both customer service and technical ability were screened to ensure that we are giving our passengers the best possible experience. For years, families from all walks of life, from all across the globe, have trusted us to give them the experience they deserve, and that is something we do not compromise on.   All of that being said, we are in the business of making good memories, not bad ones. We would be happy to welcome you back and make this right.

Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu cost?

    +

Prices start at $250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Moana’s VIP Waikiki Turtle Snorkeling Experience on Nalu start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
