Too crowded and not worth the money
This sounded like a great way to spend New Year’s Eve for our first trip to Hawaii. Not so. The staff was great but there were way too many tables set up that no one, even the staff, could comfortably get around. We basically had to stay in our seats from the time we got on the boat until dinner was over. The tables were so squished together we could not even see the show that was put on. We had our salad at 9:30 when we boarded but didn’t get our main course until 11:15. The food was cold. We were served our dessert after midnight when we returned to our seats from watching the fireworks but our table was still full of all our dinner plates. It was really cool seeing the fireworks with the lights of Honolulu in the backdrop, but not worth the price we paid for the dinner cruise.
Response from the operator: Aloha Relax34240751796, Thank you for sharing your New Year’s Eve experience with us. We’re truly sorry that the crowding, long wait times, and difficulty enjoying the show and meal affected your evening, especially on such a special occasion. We understand how frustrating this must have been. We appreciate your kind words about our staff and the fireworks view, and your feedback has been shared with our management team. Dump of a boat don’t waste your time
Worst ever. I should have known by the over abundance of people this would be bad. This ship was way too crowded and majorly understaffed. The food was terrible cold and unappetizing. Also the service was terrible. I do not recommend this cruise.
Response from the operator: Aloha sailorpartygirl, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your New Year’s Eve experience did not meet expectations. Your comments regarding crowding, service, and food quality are taken seriously and will be shared with our management team for review. We appreciate you taking the time to let us know. Best encounter with Captain Stefan!!!
Captain Stefan guided us around the ship. I was very good at Japanese and liked it. I was so happy to be shown the outside of the 4th floor, to see the stars, and to be treated to juice. He was very kind and funny and had a good time. I was glad that he learned it by attending twice during his trip. The rice was very good, and the dancing, singing and music were wonderful.
Response from the operator: Aloha _U9584NZ! 心温まるレビューをありがとうございます!Captain Stephen との素敵なひとときを楽しんでいただけて私たちもとても嬉しいです。またお会いできる日を心より楽しみにしております! Mahalo! Star of Honolulu

Nice way to start the New Year
The server Mia was excellent and the food was very good. The only regret is that the boat should have given us a glass of champagne to ring in the new year. The lack of music when the fireworks were going off was a bummer. Otherwise the boat was very nice

Why this scores 45
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.
How much does New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 2.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.
Is New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 2.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does New Year’s Eve Midnight Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Oahu?
+
On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Oahu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Oahu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
