    Know before you go

    • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
    • What to bring: Hiking shoes, Day Pack for all of your essentials (PLEASE pack over a gallon per person, especially for in hotter times of the year - camelbacks or multiple re-usable water bottles work great), hair tie (for long hair), sun protection necessities such as: sunscreen/lib balm/sun glasses/hat/sun hoodie, snacks and your camera (carried at your own risk) if need be
    • In hotter months of the season, please keep in mind you will need to pack/drink a lot of water and that canyoneering can be exhausting for certain individuals (due to the intense high temperatures alone)
    • This trip needs a minimum of 3 individuals to run. If your tour does not meet the minimum, we will offer you other tour options or issue a full refund.

    Great experience in Moab

Booked the canyoneering half day trip to get a new experience. This was a well run adventure and I highly recommend it if you have time when in Moab. Guides were very courteous and supportive during our time together. I never felt unsafe repelling down a 30 meter cliff.

Thrilling experience with an incredible guide

Had a spectacular trip and are so thankful we drew Mike as our guide. He shared his knowledge and passion for the town, the area, Moab and all the amazing things we saw. This was our first canyoneering experience and Mike put us at ease. What an exhilarating experience! Highly recommend giving it a try. Although we had a blast and lots of laughs, we were always aware that our safety was top priority. It was very reassuring.

Response from the operator: We are so glad you had a spectacular trip. We will pass along the positive words to Mike. thank you again for canyoneering with us. We are glad we could add to your Moab experience.

    10/10 experience canyoneering!

Had an amazing experience canyoneering with NAVTEC expeditions. As beginners, both Matt and Wyatt made us feel so safe and comfortable, and they were overall just really friendly and fun guys. This is definitely an overwhelming experience, and be prepared to step out of your comfort zone, but it is SO worth it!! Can’t recommend this enough!

A different way to see the canyons of Moab

What a memorable and exhilarating way to experience Moab! We had a great time with Wyatt & Mike. Prior hiking and/or rock climbing experience recommended.

    Amazing adventure!

This experience was definitely the highlight of our trip to Moab! Everything was amazing: the hiking, the exploring, and of course, the rappelling! Our guide, Mike Spitz, was very knowledgeable and a great instructor. I HIGHLY recommend this trip to anyone visiting Moab

Moab Canyoneering Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moab.

How much does Moab Canyoneering Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moab usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Moab Canyoneering Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moab is not rushed.

Is Moab Canyoneering Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 139 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moab, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Moab Canyoneering Adventure?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Moab Canyoneering Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Moab Canyoneering Adventure?

    +

Around 49 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moab can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moab and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Moab Canyoneering Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moab within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Moab?

    +

Moab is the gateway to Arches and Canyonlands: sunrise arch tours, 4x4 runs on Hell's Revenge, Colorado River rafting, canyoneering and dark-sky stargazing. Park entry timing systems change often, so we weight tours that handle reservations for you. On Outty we rank every Moab experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HIGHLY RATED U-DRIVE Moab Hell’s Revenge UTV Off-Road Adventure, BEST! Hell's Revenge U-Drive 4X4 Tour in Moab +Dinosaur Tracks!, 5-STAR Moab Hell's Revenge UTV U-DRIVE TOUR + DINO TRACKS. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moab?

    +

April to May and September to October, avoiding peak summer heat. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moab?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
