Whales Made Us Smile✨
We joined the whale watching trip from Colombo and the part I remember most is how the morning slowly turned into something really memorable. We left early, had breakfast on the way and reached Mirissa without any problems. At first, we were just sitting on the boat watching the sea and wondering if we would actually see anything. After some time we spotted dolphins, and then we got our first proper whale sighting. Everyone suddenly became excited, trying to point out where it had surfaced. It was one of those moments where you forget about taking photos for a second and just watch. On the way back, we were tired but really happy with how the morning went. The pickup and arrangements were easy, the crew were helpful, and there was no unnecessary hassle during the trip. I also liked that the breakfast was included because starting so early makes a difference. We were lucky with the sightings, but even apart from that, being out on the ocean was a lovely experience. I’d genuinely recommend this tour if you’re staying in Colombo or Negombo and want to do something different during your Sri Lanka trip. For us, it was definitely time well spent.

Really Enjoyed Trip 💯
We booked this tour from Colombo and the morning started much earlier than we are normally used to, but everything went smoothly. The pickup was easy and the journey to Mirissa was comfortable. We had breakfast along the way, which was actually really helpful after leaving the hotel so early. At the harbour, the whole process was straightforward and we soon got on the boat. The sea was quite calm that morning, so we spent some time just enjoying the ride and looking around. After a while we started seeing dolphins, and then we were lucky enough to spot whales as well. Seeing them suddenly appear and disappear in the water was probably my favourite part of the whole morning. What I liked was that the trip didn’t feel complicated. The crew were friendly, the boat ride was comfortable, and we were given enough time to enjoy what we were seeing. We took quite a few photos, but honestly the actual experience was much better than the pictures. By the time we returned to shore we were tired from the early start, but everyone was still talking about the sightings. I’m really glad we included this in our Sri Lanka trip. If you’re staying in Colombo or Negombo and are thinking about doing whale watching in Mirissa, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

Highly Recommended Trip
I honestly didn’t know what to expect from the whale watching trip because you can never be sure what you will actually see in the ocean. We were picked up from Colombo early in the morning and went towards Mirissa. The breakfast was a nice little bonus, especially because we had started the day so early. After getting on the boat, we spent quite a while just looking at the sea, and then things suddenly got exciting when we started seeing dolphins and whales. Watching a whale come up from the water for a few seconds and then disappear again was such a cool moment. It felt much more real seeing it like that in the open sea. The whole day was simple and enjoyable from start to finish. There was no unnecessary fuss, and the people on the trip were helpful whenever we needed anything. I especially liked that we were able to just enjoy the experience instead of feeling like we were being rushed from one thing to another. By the time we returned, we were pretty tired from the early start, but honestly I didn’t mind at all. Seeing the whales and dolphins made the whole morning worthwhile. I’d definitely suggest doing this if you’re staying around Colombo or Negombo and want to see a different side of Sri Lanka.

The Morning We Spent Out at Sea
What I remember most about this trip is actually the feeling of being out on the sea so early in the morning. We left from Colombo, had breakfast on the way, and reached Mirissa without any hassle. Once the boat moved away from the shore, it felt like the whole morning had slowed down. We were just sitting there watching the ocean and waiting, not really knowing when we would see anything. Then suddenly we spotted whales and everyone on the boat got excited at the same time. We also saw dolphins swimming around, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I really liked that it didn’t feel rushed or complicated. The pickup was smooth, the breakfast was convenient, and the crew looked after us during the boat ride. The best part was seeing the whales in the open ocean rather than expecting everything to happen at a certain time. We were lucky with the sightings and came back with some really nice memories from the morning. If someone asked me whether I would do this trip again while staying in Colombo or Negombo, I honestly would. It was one of those simple experiences that stays with you after the holiday is over.

Whale Watching Was Worth the Early Start
We booked the whale watching tour from Colombo and everything went smoothly from the beginning. The early morning pickup was on time and the drive towards Mirissa was comfortable. Since we had started so early, having breakfast included was really convenient. It made the long morning much easier and we didn’t have to worry about finding food on the way. Once we got on the boat, the real excitement started. We spent some time looking around before we finally started spotting whales in the distance. Seeing them come up from the water and disappear again was such a special experience. We were also lucky enough to see dolphins during the trip, which was honestly an unexpected bonus. Being out in the middle of the ocean and watching these animals in their natural environment felt completely different from seeing them in pictures. The whole trip felt well organised without being rushed. The crew were friendly and helpful, and we felt safe throughout the boat ride. By the time we headed back, we were tired but really happy with the experience. For us, this was definitely one of the most memorable mornings of our Sri Lanka trip, and I would happily recommend it to anyone staying in Colombo or Negombo who wants to experience whale watching in Mirissa.
