3 Course Class
I booked the 3 course meal class for my friend’s bachelorette party in Playa del Carmen, and we all had a blast. Our taxi driver got a bit lost on the way to the house, but Coty was responsive and helped us navigate the neighborhood. We were welcomed with some jicima agua fresca which was perfect for the warm day. We learned how to make 3 different kinds of salsas with various preparation methods, as well as guacamole with fresh fried tortilla chips. For our main dish we made quesabirria and birria with refried beans, which was so delicious. All the cooking components were so hands on which was so enjoyable. We finished the class with a chili class and tequila/mezcal tasting. The whole experience was so informative, and we learned so much about Mexican cuisine and the various ingredients commonly used. Would 100% recommend this experience to others.
Response from the operator: Muchas gracias Juliann! Thank you for your kind words and for organizing this for your friend. I really enjoyed teaching this group of international, intelligent and beautiful girls. all the best! Coty

3 Course Meal with excellent instruction
We had a great time taking Chef Coty’s three course menu cooking lesson. We made birria, guacamole, chips, two salsas and an amazing amaretto flan. She also included a class on different types of chiles and one on tequila and mezcal. Her house is set up perfectly for the classes and her communication about directions and food preferences was excellent. We would definitely recommend her class.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! It was a pleasure teaching, cooking, laughing and sharing a bit of Mexico with all of you. So happy you enjoyed the experience. :) Hope to see you again when you are back in PDC! saludos Coty

Amazing and fun cooking classes in Playa!
A fiend joined me in Playa del Carmen and we wanted to do something different and original in playa. After some research, we found this culinary school and it has great reviews, so we decided to go for a class. It was a great decision! We had many options about what we want to eat. We picked for our menu: fish timbal with chipotle sauce, fish and shrimp in achiote wrapped in banana leaves and flambéed bananas with rompope. Chef Coty received us and the place is great. It’s a combination between an intimate space and a professional kitchen. She has an amazing energy and we felt very comfortable since the beginning. I observed that she has lots of experience and now what she’s doing - and she passes the joy of cooking as you become involved in the preparation of the dishes. Additional to making the plates, she shared with us a lot of knowledge about tequilas and mezcals. It was a great night, definitely a great experience in Playa!
Response from the operator: THANK YOU Fernando for your words… Mexican food brings you lots of memories, and I am so happy you and your friend loved the food and the experience. And that you also got to learn more about tequila and mezcal. Hope you visit us again when back in PDC! ☺️ Saludos! Coty

An incredible dinner with Chef Coty we will never forget!
We hired Chef Coty to cook for our group of 36 in Mexico and honestly it was one of the highlights of the trip. She put together a 3 course meal that started with the best ceviche mixto I've ever had, then guests got to choose between tikin xic, pollo achiote, or chile rellenos for the main. Every single person at the table was happy with their food. Oh and the tres leches for dessert was increíble. What really stood out beyond the food was how easy she was to work with. Pricing was totally transparent from the start, no surprises, which you don't always get when coordinating something this size. She was super warm and friendly throughout the whole process, and her team was just as great. Everyone was attentive and genuinely kind. If you're in the Playa Car area and need a private chef, especially for a larger group, Chef Coty is the move. We'll always remember our amazing dinner with Chef Coty's team. Can't recommend her enough.
Response from the operator: Dear Rob, since the day you contacted me to inquire about this very important event, I was impressed with your Spanish, how friendly you were and so easy to work with. This dinner I made it a personal matter that it would turn out PERFECT! 🤩 Thank you for this lovely review and for trusting me with the food. Was super lovely to meet you, your wife, family and friends. Saludos de Playa! Coty

Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 158 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting?
+
Around 55 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mexican Cooking Class 1 or 3 Courses Tequila and Mezcal Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
