    Arianny was great tour guide!

Best stop on my cruise and went to four islands. Ariany was our tour guide and she was amazing! She told us about culture, paid attention to safety, was funny and on point! 10/10 experience. The food at the end was delicious.

Your picture policy is just plain dumb

For the Zipline & horseback riding excursion you get on to a big open air truck which drives you about 30 minutes into the interior of the island to the ranch. We started with ziplining which was fun but your view is just mountainous tree lines, which wasn’t the most exciting. After getting equipment and safety instructions we did 6 lines total which took about an hour. Then after a short break it was onto the horseback riding. After more safety instructions you mount up and you’re off. Horses pretty much just follow each other and you don’t really have to do anything but sit there. You go down a trail, over a stream, and partially up a hill before you turn around and head back the same way. All the horses were very tame and none got too crazy. My horse kept trying to walk into the ditch which was funny but also a little aggravating. Also felt like his legs were shaky walking up/down the hills. After about an hour of horseback riding we headed back to the main part of the ranch where we were served a traditional Dominican Republic lunch. Chicken, pork, rice, beans, pasta, fresh fruit, and beverages. I gotta say the food was delicious. You get about another 15 minutes to look at their tiny gift shop then back onto the truck to head back to port. All the staff were very friendly and there were a lot of them helping out. The only negative feedback I’d give is about the pictures they take while excursioning. The pictures are all or nothing and for all of them it’s $120, and you can’t even preview them before you buy. Many other excursions we’ve done, they upload all pictures to a website that you can view and purchase individually. This is a much better way to sell them. Most people are not going to pay $120 for pictures they can’t even see. That part was just a big turnoff. If you offered individual pictures I guarantee they’d make more money. Overall ziplining and horseback riding was a lot of fun and you get a delicious lunch to go with it. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Scenic view was just meh and definitely no hidden gem. And picture policy is just plain stupid. Id recommend if you like the adventure and not so much the view.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for visiting us and for taking the time to share your review! We truly appreciate it. About pictures, the price includes all pictures of the day for your family/ friends group, but if you want to buy individual pictures , you can always write to the mega web page emiail and they can send you a preview for you to choose individuals one. But of course, a ALL package will always be cheaper per pic than buying individuals.

    Great experience!

My friends and I had a really nice experience at both the zip lining and horseback riding. Our guide, Eduardo and driver, Daniel made sure that we got our money's worth. We spent a decent amount of time at both excursions! I would definitely recommend these activities to others!

Mega Truck Excursion through Mega Adventures

We had 7 of us in our group and every one of us loved the excursion! We did the Mega Truck tour. It was a great way to tour D.R. We really enjoyed the tour guide Alexis and our driver Luiz. When yiu are on the tour, you have a chance to tour a school. They love treats and school supplies, as well.

Best Adventure Team in the Dominican! Book with Them!

My fiancé and I absolutely loved this tour! Our tour guide, Telisia (unsure if I spelled correctly) was amazing and made the entire trip - she made everyone feel at home. She gave great details along the ride to the ranch about the area and countryside and she had a wonderful personality! Once we got to the ranch, I felt at home with our guides at the Zip Lining platforms and they gave great instructions and made me feel safe when ready to launch to the next platform. Everything was well organized and we had a blast! For the last portion of the experience, we selected the horse back riding. Neither of us had been on horses for years, but they matched us well with our horse and everyone had a great time taking a trip through the ranch. The lunch served when we returned was delicious and I enjoyed getting the opportunity to enjoy true Dominican fare! I definitely encourage you to Book with Mega Extreme Adventure!

Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Plata.

How much does Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Plata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Plata is not rushed.

Is Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 151 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Plata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more?

    +

Around 53 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Plata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Plata and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mega Extreme Adventure: Horseback Riding, Ziplining and more start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Plata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Plata?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Plata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Monkeyland Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata Highlights City Tours from amber cove and Taino bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Plata?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Plata?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
