Poor communication. Not as advertised. Rushed around

Horrific. Driver had us in the unairconditioned van for 2 hours. He drive us to get petrol. Meet a man to exchange money at another petrol station. Picked up some people. Drove down a back alley to exchange more money with men. Didn’t explain a thing. Spoke Arabic. We had no idea what was happening. Shouting at drivers, drove like a maniac, didn’t speak 90% of the trip. Boring. Hot. The guide at the end of the waterfall said the driver said we had to pay him money. We didn’t. He lied. We all questioned it but he said we were told to and so we handed over money. The driver refused to stop half way. I didn’t get to urinate from 8:30am untill 13:30 when we ate. We all didn’t. He said it was better we didn’t stop for the advance oil part untill the way back. On way back. Because he didn’t stop on way we had to all stop on way back. Thins exacerbated the need for us to go back to Marrakesh. Tired. Same on way back. Didn’t talk. Hot boring. Messing about dropping off. Then had the audacity to pull over didn’t say a word. I got angry and told him this. I demanded to know what was happening. He told me he was picking people up. Why I said! Tour over. Been in bus another 2 hours if not longer by now. No toileting. He was picking people up I think for a private airport run. Absolutely ridiculous. Never apologised. Said nothing. I told him I want to go he ignored me.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience and sincerely apologize for the distress and discomfort you faced during your trip. This is certainly not the standard of service we aim to provide. All of our tours are meant to be safe, enjoyable, and well-organized, with clear communication and consideration for our guests’ comfort and needs. We regret that the driver’s behavior, lack of explanation, and the issues you described with stops and delays caused such frustration and discomfort. We take your concerns very seriously and will review this incident thoroughly with the team to ensure proper training, communication, and safety measures are reinforced. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us prevent similar situations in the future. We truly apologize again for the negative experience and hope to have the opportunity to restore your trust in our services in the future.

Beware the stairs

The guide and the river lunch were lovely but beware that the walk to the waterfall is very steep, lots of stairs and almost a bit of rock climbing. A couple of people in our group struggled. Not for those with bad knees.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the guide and the river lunch. We appreciate your note about the waterfall walk—indeed, it’s quite steep with many stairs and some rocky sections, so it’s important for visitors with knee or mobility issues to be cautious. Your insights will help future travelers prepare better for the adventure.

Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $17 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 89 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch?

+

Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Marrakech: Ourika Valley, Atlas Waterfalls with Guide &Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
