    Private Key West Tour!

Troy was absolutely the best! The four of us had the best time on our private tour of the Keys. We left Duck Key and stopped a couple of places on our way to Key West. We let Troy know what we wanted to see and do and he added a few other adventures that added to our journey! Troy was very informative about the Keys and surrounding areas. We were able to check-out the local sights in Key West with out having to find a parking place or how to get around. We would highly recommend Troy as your private tour guide in the Keys!

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for the awesome review! I had a great time showing you all around the Keys and adding in a few extra stops along the way. Glad you got to enjoy the sights without the hassle of parking or figuring out directions. Hope to catch you again next time you’re back in the Keys for another adventure! – Troy

Highly recommend Troy and Up the Keys!

We had an incredible private tour from Marathon to Key West, and it was truly one of the highlights of our time in the Keys. Troy is incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of the islands to life with fascinating stories, fun facts, and great local insight. The stops along the way were thoughtful, interesting, and perfectly paced—places we never would have discovered on our own. The mix of history, culture, and humor made the day both educational and a lot of fun. If you’re looking for a personalized, engaging way to experience the Keys beyond the typical tourist spots, this is it. An amazing experience from start to finish.

Response from the operator: Thank you Chris! I makes me happy to hear that. I absolutely love making your experiences enjoyable and memorable! Troy

    Perfect day trip.

Our tour guide/driver Troy was amazing. He gave us several options for stops on our way to Key West. Then he gave us specific detailed options based on what we were interested in seeing. He also narrated the history and unique facts about the areas we were driving thru. He was very easy going which was great for our laid back comical group of friends. He had multiple suggestions for good restaurants and bars. It was a fun, interactive adventure for our group and we would not hesitate to use Up The Keys Tours again.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the awesome review! It was a blast spending the day with your crew, and your laid-back, comical vibe made the drive fly by. Glad you enjoyed the different stop options, the stories along the way, and some of my favorite restaurant and bar suggestions. Next time you are heading up or down the Keys, reach out and let’s plan another adventure together! Troy

Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Key West.

How much does Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys cost?

    +

Prices start at $137 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Key West usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Key West is not rushed.

Is Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Key West, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Key West can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Key West and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Marathon to Key West Private Tour of Florida Keys start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Key West within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Key West?

    +

Key West is a boat town. The only living coral barrier reef in the continental US sits seven miles offshore, and reef trips, sunset catamarans and backcountry kayak runs are the core bookings, alongside Hemingway house and Duval history walks. Our ranking weighs boat capacity and reef site rotation, which separates the good operators from the party cruises. On Outty we rank every Key West experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Shark and Wildlife Viewing Adventure in Key West, Southernmost Food & Cultural Walking Tour by Key West Food Tours, Half-Day Trip from Key West with Kayaking, Snorkeling & Sunset. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Key West?

    +

December to April, dry season and calm reef water. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Key West?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
