Great Full-Day Gozo Self-Drive Buggy Tour

We had such a fun day on the Full-Day Self-Drive Buggy Tour in Gozo, and overall, it was a brilliant way to see the island. We were picked up from ossur hotel in an air-conditioned mini3bus, which was really handy. We picked up a few other guests on the way to the port, then got on the boat and waited for the rest of the group to arrive before setting off for Gozo. When we arrived, we met the guides, although things were a bit confusing at first. There were a few gui,des stoanding around with small pieces of paper showing people’s names , but no one really explained where we needed to go or what we had to do. Eventually, we found our guide and travelled for around 5–10 minutes to where the ATVs were waiting. Once we go, t there, we were given an overview of the day and shown how to use the ATV before setting off. We then spent the day driving around Gozo, enjoying some amazing scenery and visiting different spots around the island.  We were picked up from  our hotel in an air-conditioned minibus, which was really handy. There were a few guides standing around with small pieces of paper showing people’s names, but no one really explained where we needed to go or what we had to do. Once we got there, we were given an overview of the day and shown how to use the ATV before setting off. We then spent the day driving around Gozo, enjoying some amazing scenery and visiting different spots around the island. We stopped at a local restaurant for some traditional food and drinks, which was really nice. It gave us a chance to relax and try some local flavours. After that, we carried on exploring, stopping at various tourist attractions. At one stop, we had the option to pay €5 for a boat trip into the caves, which was a lot of fun. After some more sightseeing, we started making our way back towards the port, stopping at a few more places along the way. When we got back, things were a little unclear again, as it wasn’t immediately obvious what was happening. Eventually, we were split back into our groups, got on another boat and headed to the Blue Lagoon for a swim. The Blue Lagoon was amazing! After spending the whole day exploring Gozo, jumping into the crystal-clear water was so refreshing. We had around 50 minutes to swim and enjoy the lagoon before getting back on the boat and heading to the port, where our transport was waiting to take us back to our hotels. The only downside for me was the ATV driving position. I’m 6ft 4", and after driving for most of the day, I found the seating position pretty uncomfortable. If you’re taller, I’d recommend sharing the driving rather than having one person drive all day. Overall, we had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend this tour. It’s a great way to see loads of Gozo in one day, with a nice mix of driving, sightseeing, local food, exploring and finishing with a swim at the Blue Lagoon. Highly recommended — just be ready for a long day and, if you’re tall, think about sharing the driving!

    Great day exploring

Excellent day out exploring Gozo, everything went well from pickup to drop off, explored all round Gozo with our very friendly and knowledgeable local Guide Sandros, seemed like he knew everyone in the island and was passionate about sharing his home! Being self drive we were able to tailor our trip and saw everything we wanted to. Lunch was nice (catered Gluten free, notified in advance). Buggys were easy to drive, and was a great way to see all round the island. Quick swim stop at blue lagoon and sea caves was a bonus. Overall a fantastic day out!

Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valletta.

How much does Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop cost?

    +

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valletta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valletta is not rushed.

Is Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valletta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valletta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valletta and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Malta Full Day Self Drive Buggy Tour with Lunch and Swim Stop start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valletta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Valletta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Valletta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Original Valletta Walking Tour, Valletta Walking Tour, In a Small Group, Valletta City Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valletta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valletta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
