Grand Traverse Bay
Grand Traverse Bay is an arm of Lake Michigan. The bay is separated from the rest of Lake Michigan by the Leelanau Peninsula. The bay is some 32 miles long, ranges from 7 to 10 miles wide, and up to 620 feet deep in spots. It is the second-largest bay of Lake Michigan, behind Green Bay. Grand Traverse Bay earned its name from 18th-century French voyageurs who made "la grande traverse" or a long trek or crossing, across the mouth of bay. The most famous feature of the Grand Traverse Bay is the division into East and West arms by the Old Mission Peninsula. During this tour, on the way from Traverse City to Hawthorne Vineyards, your tour guests will see stunning views of the East Bay. Tour guests will be driven right along the shoreline at times. On the drive from Hawthorne to Bowers guests will see views of the West Bay. Tour guests will see views of both East and West Bays during the rest of the tour as well. Bowers Harbor Vineyards is nicknamed the "dog winery" and guests might see various dogs at the winery. Bowers Harbor grows Riesling, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The real show stopper is the Pinot Secco (bubbly Pinot Grigio) and a Pinot Secco Rose (Magic Mike's pick). Our Favorite Tradition
This was our fourth wine tour with Mike, and somehow each one keeps getting better. This trip was especially memorable because we got engaged, and Mike helped make the whole day go off without a hitch. He made sure we had an awesome experience at every winery leading up to the proposal. Mike is always fun, knowledgeable, and makes every tour feel effortless. We know we’re in for a great day every time we book with him. If you’re thinking about doing a wine tour, stop looking and book with Mike—you won’t regret it.

Best tour ever with Ray!
This was the absolute best tour. We had Ray as a driver and he was one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. He was kind, funny, knowledgeable and truly gave us the movie star feels. Doors were opened by our driver, he served our drinks, brought us water. It was truly and excellent experience because of Ray!

Magic Mike Traverse City winery tour
Our tour was fantastic! Ray, our guide, was knowledgeable, funny, engaging, attentive, and an overall delight! He offered us bottled water which was much appreciated on the heat and helped dilute the alcohol! We felt like “movie stars” while touring in a limo! magic Mike was easy to communicate with and helped confirm our trip. It made for a highlight of our girls weekend getaway. We highly recommend the tour. Cheers until next time!

Tour was phenomenal!
Mike was amazing. My aunt and I had such a great time with Mike. He was very knowledgeable about all the wineries and even made a trip to the local distillery after we told him we loved bourbon. If you're looking for a tour, Mike and his company is the way to go! I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great time!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Traverse City.
How much does Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Traverse City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Traverse City is not rushed.
Is Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Traverse City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Traverse City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Traverse City and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Magic MIKE NON-BUS Traverse Old Mission Wine Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Traverse City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Traverse City?
+
Traverse City pairs Old Mission and Leelanau winery tours with Sleeping Bear Dunes trips, kayak and paddleboard rentals on Grand Traverse Bay and fall colour drives. On Outty we rank every Traverse City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 5-Hour Traverse City Wine Tour: 4 Wineries on Old Mission Peninsula, NON-BUS 4 Winery Traverse Wine Tour on Old Mission - ICE COLD AC, 5-Hour Traverse City Wine Tour: 3 Wineries on Leelanau Peninsula. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Traverse City?
+
June to October, with peak colour in early October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Traverse City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
