What you'll see and do

  1. In order for you to have ample time to enjoy all of the beautiful Machu Picchu, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning by private car headed for Ollantaytambo to catch an early train. The journey to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu, will take approximately 2 hours by private car from Cusco to Ollantaytambo and then 2 hours by train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes. Those are 4 hours filled with relaxation while taking in the stunning countryside of Peru. Once you have arrived in Aguas Calientes, we will immediately pick you up and we take a bus up to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Once we arrive, we’ll treat you to a first class guided tour to discover and answer your questions about the site, life and culture of its one-time inhabitants. We’ll spend a splendid 2 ½ hours exploring the ruins and pointing out evocative historical facts about the Inka that will give you a newfound appreciation for the people who once walked here. After the tour, the guide will give you direction regarding train departures so that your trip back to Cusco is comfortable and without inconveniences. Don’t worry; you’ll have plenty of time to explore and roam around Machu Picchu’s ruins on your own after the tour. When you arrive back in Cusco, we’ll pick you up from the train station and deliver you back to your hotel inspired, enlightened, and satisfied.

Fantastic two hour tour with Noah!

Fantastic experience with Noah at Machu Picchu! Noah was an incredible and highly knowledgeable guide. He structured our day perfectly, even giving us time to eat at the tap room in town before we took the bus up for the tour. Machu Picchu requires a lot of walking, and we really appreciated that he gave us time to rest between stair climbs. He also knew the absolute best spots for breathtaking pictures! To top it off, he gave us excellent recommendations for our upcoming trip to Cusco. Highly recommend booking with Noah!

5 Star Peruvian guide

Abraham was our guide at Machu Picchu. The great thing about Abraham being our guide was that he literally takes care of every detail and just told us when and where to be. He navigated all of the travel issues and communication on our behalf. Abraham was always attentive, relatable, responsive and adaptive to the needs of our group. It seemed like he could sense what a particular individual needed or could derive it from conversation. He would then seamlessly interact with them on a highly personalized level. He was available 100% of our stay even when the day was over and we were at the hotel or out and about roaming the city. He was highly interactive with us, teaching us card games, helping us with selecting good restaurants to eat at (Morena Peruvian Kitchen and DWasi Coffee Shop), and prevented those in our group from purchasing mislabeled textiles and fake goods. Also, when one of our members came down the WaynaPicchu Mountain, he learned she had a fused ankle and heel bone so he lent his arm and hand to stabilize her entire decent down the mountain. He was willing to answer all of our questions even if they were asked multiple times. When he learned that another member was interested in animals, he gave specific information about the animals.

Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour cost?

+

Prices start at $610 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Machu Picchu Premium Full Day tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
