Exceptional Machu Picchu Experience with an Outstanding Guide

We had an incredible experience visiting Machu Picchu, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Roy Quispe Humanaco. From the start, you could tell how knowledgeable and passionate he was about the history and culture of the area. He didn’t just walk us through the site—he brought it to life. Every stop had meaning, and he did a great job explaining things in a way that was easy to understand without feeling like a lecture. He also did a great job pacing the tour. We never felt rushed, and he made sure we had time to take everything in, ask questions, and get some great photos along the way. He also went above and beyond helping us capture the experience. He knew exactly where the best photo spots were, helped line up great shots, and even took videos for us so we could actually be in the moment instead of worrying about capturing it. Those little things made a big difference and gave us memories we’ll keep forever. What really stood out was how much he cared about making it a great experience for us specifically. He was attentive, flexible, and made sure we got the most out of our time there. If you’re planning a trip to Machu Picchu, having the right guide makes all the difference. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Machu Picchu and that Roy Quispe Humanaco made it so special. Providing authentic and personalized experiences is very important to us, and feedback like yours really motivates our team. We’re especially glad you appreciated Roy’s knowledge, passion, and attention to the small details that make such a big difference. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again for another adventure in Peru. Thank you for trusting us!

Machu Picchu wonderful experience

I traveled to Peru with my whole family from the USA to spend quality time together and enjoy nature, including one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu. We booked the full-day Machu Picchu tour and the Sacred Valley tour, and it was truly an amazing experience. From the very first day, the team at Tikas Peru was incredibly flexible with our needs and explained everything in detail, which made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. During our visit to Machu Picchu, we had plenty of time to learn from the guide and also enjoy free time to take lots of pictures. The next day, we explored the Sacred Valley. The driver was very friendly, and our tour guide Michael kept us informed and entertained throughout the entire trip. They were very professional, everything was on time, and the organization was excellent. The Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley tours were the best option for us. Thank you very much, Tikas Peru — your service is the best!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We’re truly delighted to hear that your family trip from the USA was so memorable and that you enjoyed exploring Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley together. It means a lot to know that our team was able to make you feel comfortable and well taken care of from the very beginning. We’re especially happy to hear that you enjoyed the balance of guided insights and free time, as well as the professionalism and friendliness of our staff, including Michael and your driver. Your kind words about our organization and service truly motivate us to keep delivering the best possible experiences to our travelers. Thank you again for trusting Tikas Peru—we hope to welcome you and your family back for another unforgettable adventure in Peru!

Matchu Pichu Tour

Our guides were Michael and Ferdinand and they were fantastic and very patient. We had a group of children ages 6-17 and adults and the guides were extremely patient with the children. Michael especially did a great job engaging the children with facts and stories about the sites we visited. They were informative and friendly. They did a good job adjusting the pace based on the weather and how the group was feeling. We enjoyed getting to know them. We booked with them a few months prior to our trip and they communicated well and set up a fantastic trip for us. They were accommodating and went above and beyond to help us. They were our guides for the trip itself and not just the historic sites. Would absolutely recommend to everyone!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind and detailed review! It truly means a lot to us. We’re delighted to hear that you and your group had such a wonderful experience with Michael and Ferdinand. They will be especially happy to know that their efforts to keep both the children and adults engaged, comfortable, and entertained made a difference throughout your trip. Creating a flexible, enjoyable, and well-organized experience is always our goal, and it’s great to hear that this came through. It was a pleasure assisting you from the planning stage through the entire journey. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation—we hope to welcome you back on another adventure in the future!

Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco cost?

+

Prices start at $369 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Machu Picchu Full Day Experience from Cusco start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
