Fabulous tour
Jhon was an excellent guide and was able to share lots of information about the site in a very engaging way. The whole organization of the day was very smooth with everything we needed (tickets, itinerary etc) received by WhatsApp the day before. Pick up was on time at the hotel and at the end of the day. Overall a wonderful experience and fabulous day.

Book everything through Cusco Local Friend!
It has been seamless to work directly with Cusco Local Friend. Definitely contact them directly- don’t book through a 3rd party or Viator! They put together our Machu Picchu experience, helped out with timing on when to book trains, and we had an excellent guide. Our guide, John, was amazing! He was funny and took the time to answer any questions we had. He also is a pro at knowing where the best photo spots are, and was happy to take as many as we’d like. I just booked a customized Sacred Valley tour as well, with a pick-up from our hotel in Ollytantambo, a choice of which sites we’d like to see, and a drop-off at our next hotel in Cusco. Very affordable and even worked with a slightly later pick up so we could sleep in!

5 Star Guide Abraham
Our tour of Machu Picchu with Abraham was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The entire experience was extremely well coordinated and thoughtfully planned, making everything seamless and stress-free. Marcello was an excellent driver, getting us safely to and from our hotel, which made the early morning travel so much easier. When we arrived at the train station, Abraham was there waiting for us. He guided us to the bus, handled all the logistics, and then led us through the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu. Abraham brought so much passion and genuine love to every part of the tour, making the history come alive. His knowledge of the Incas is truly incredible, and he shared fascinating stories and insights that gave us a much deeper appreciation for this remarkable place. Beyond being an outstanding guide, Abraham was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and took the time to answer every question with enthusiasm. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Machu Picchu. If you have the chance to tour with Abraham and Marcello, you're in excellent hands!

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba cost?
+
Prices start at $365 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 55 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Machu Picchu Day Trip from Ollantaytambo and Urubamba start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
