Very Interesting and Enjoyable
The tour used an air conditioned minibus and there were eight guests from many parts of the world. Our driver / guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about tourism in the Hunter Valley region. He encouraged questions when traffic allowed and was always happy to respond and help when needed. The wildlife park was fascinating. Although the prime reason for visiting was to stroke a koala, who was much more interested in the fresh eucalyptus leaves the keeper was offering him than the striking that he received. He was clearly perfectly happy with the occasion! The other wildlife at the location were just as fascinating but the kangaroos were particularly popular with food offered to us by the Guide for hand feeding. I was particularly interested in the venomous snake house. Luckily the reptiles were all behind glass! If one moved quickly amongst the enclosures one could see most of the things of interest in brief. But people with limited mobility would have to prioritise what they wanted to experience. That being said, the park is in a gentle hill and is almost entirely wheelchair accessible. Well worth a visit. The wineries were a further twenty minutes away and were well chosen on the day by our guide for the group’s particular aspirations. There was just the right amount of variety of offerings and of good quality although different people enjoyed different wines of course. I would not have wanted too many more to taste! That would have detracted from the enjoyment of the day in my opinion. The cheese and chocolate tasting was a highlight of the day. A real treat for the taste buds. And in a splendid location. The optional meal offered plenty of choice and was enjoyed by all. Our Guide was happy to drop us off en-route before the official pickup drop off point. Would thoroughly recommend.

Fun outing
Friendly guide. Great wineries with personal attention. The guide asked what kinds of wines we liked and tailored the wineries to it. The wildlife experience is the best you will get.

Must do!
This is a must do for wine enthusiasts. The day started with a koala encounter which was amazing! Then onto cheese and chocolates. Then wine tasting in the beautiful countryside. It was a highlight of our trip!

Lovely people, Lacklustre Wine
I’ll start by saying that the people associated with this tour were lovely. Sam, the tour guide, the ladies at “The Fat Cow”, and both of our winery leads were very kind. The tour of the reptile park was fabulous. Unfortunately, the quality of products offered in this region were incredibly disappointing. The tour notes that you start with a chocolate, cheese and olive oil tasting. While this is true, all of the above were of poor taste and reminiscent of something you would get at Aldi. The first winery that we visited, was a beautiful location, but the wine itself tasted oddly watered down - like nothing I’ve had before (not in a good way). The second winery was better, although still lacking from a flavour perspective. If you’re a wine lover, I would give this tour a miss. We did this tour with two other wine lovers from Sweden (who we met on the tour), and they agreed. At the end of the day, it felt like we paid a hefty fee to be driven to the animal park, and spend the day with some nice people.

Why this scores 93
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney cost?
+
Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 657 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 48 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney?
+
Around 230 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Luxury Hunter Valley Wildlife & Wine Tasting Tour from Sydney start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
