About this experience

For incredible views of the Himalayas, you don’t have to go far from Kathmandu. The high hills ringing the valley provide for an awe-inspiring view of the great snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.  The Kathmandu Skyline Trek starts at the ancient village of Changu Narayan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It takes you to the top of Nagarkot for an outstanding sunrise and sunset over the Himalayas and then drops down to the picturesque village of Dhulikhel. Finally, you reach the sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site of Namo Buddha before taking a private vehicle back to Kathmandu.  The journey is considered an easy to moderate trek. Close to Kathmandu, yet you will still feel a million miles away from the traffic and city activity. Instead, you will trek often above the clouds as you make your way along the eastern rim of the legendary Kathmandu Valley. We started at 9 am after breakfast from your hotel and reach Nagarkot approx 3 pm.

Absolutely worth it. Wonderful experience.

Perfect for beginner hikers and outdoor lovers. You get the best hotels of the area (the one in Nagarkot was top notch), and you get to see and experience bits of everyday life in Nepal. The views and the food were great too. Gratifying and memorable experience thanks to our guide, Bidhur. He took great care of our group. He was always very courteous and considerate to our needs. We learned a lot and had good fun with him.

Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you so much for booking a trip (Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu) with Himalayan Planet Adventures. We are so glad to know that you are fully satisfied with our service and guide Bidur. Your such wonderful review inspire us to do better in the future. Hope to serve you again in coming days.

Lovely Experience, Great Views!

Me and my friends booked this trek because of the in-nature experience. We got to see amazing views all through out and we stayed in very beautiful hotels (way nicer than expected). Our guide, Bidur was very friendly, attentive and fun to be around with. He knew which places to take us for eating and he would tell us where it was safe for drinking. During the trek, we really never felt on a schedule; we decided the time we wanted to have our meals and the time to leave the hotel to resume the trek. It was great having that flexibily (we never felt rushed). Overall we all loved the entire experience. We got to see incredible views while in great company. I would totally recommend this trek. ✅

Response from the operator: Hello Kathia, Namaste! Thank you so much for your kind review and trusting our company to operate your trip. It's a great pleasure to know your great experience in Nepal with our company. Please do remember your other friends also for such trip in Nepal. Hope to see you again in near future. Take Care!!

Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days cost?

+

Prices start at $420 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 11. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 72-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Luxury Holiday Trek in Kathmandu - 3 Days start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
