An unforgettable private boat experience in Cartagena An absolutely outstanding experience from beginning to end — easily one of the highlights of our time in Cartagena. We booked a private boat experience to explore the Rosario Islands, and everything lived up to our expectations. The boat was private, extremely comfortable and powerful, and having it entirely to ourselves gave us the freedom to enjoy the day at our own pace. A very special thank you to Gina, who looked after us throughout the experience with professionalism, kindness and genuine attention. The captain and the other member of the crew were equally excellent: discreet, helpful, friendly and always focused on making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. During the approximately seven hours on the water, we visited different areas of the Rosario Islands, enjoying the beautiful Caribbean scenery and the freedom that only a private boat can provide. One of the most memorable moments was Cholón. Arriving among all the boats, music and incredible atmosphere was an experience in itself. We even got off the boat and enjoyed a drink at a bar literally in the water — something we had never experienced before and will certainly remember. I also want to thank Fernando Herrera for the organization and communication. Everything that had been arranged and promised beforehand was delivered exactly as expected, which is particularly important when booking a high-level private experience. For us, this wasn't simply a boat transfer or an excursion. It was a complete day on the Caribbean Sea: private, comfortable, exciting, flexible and extremely well organized. Thank you to Gina, Fernando, our captain and the entire team for giving us such a memorable day in Cartagena. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly private and special way to experience the Rosario Islands. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and wonderful review of your private boat experience in Cartagena! We are absolutely delighted to know that your day exploring the Rosario Islands was one of the highlights of your time in Cartagena. It means a great deal to us to hear that the boat, crew, flexibility, and organization all met your expectations and allowed you to enjoy the Caribbean at your own pace. We will be especially happy to share your kind words with Gina, the captain, and the entire crew. Their dedication to providing attentive, professional, and personalized service is exactly what we strive for. We will also make sure Fernando receives your recognition for the organization and communication throughout the booking process. And we agree — Cholón is certainly an experience of its own! We are thrilled that you enjoyed its unique atmosphere and had the opportunity to experience one of Cartagena's most iconic spots from the water. Thank you again for trusting us with such an important part of your visit. It was a pleasure to be part of your Cartagena adventure, and we sincerely hope to welcome you back to Colombia for another unforgettable experience on the Caribbean Sea. Warm regards,

Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.

How much does Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands cost?

    +

Prices start at $2785 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.

Is Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands?

    +

Is Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Luxury Boat trip to the Rosario Islands start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cartagena?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cartagena Antigua & Barrio Getsemani group with audio system, Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cartagena?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cartagena?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
