THE BEST
My friends and I had a blast on this tour. The guides went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. This was easily the highlight of our Cartagena vacation. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants experience the peace and beauty of the ocean while letting loose their inner child.

Take Your Kiddos
This is truly the perfect family experience. We were the only ones booked, so it was like a private boat and tour. They were generous with the open bar, organized a great tour of the fort, and the lunch on the private beach was amazing. On the way back, they laid out some cushions so our two children could nap on the boat ride back after having a blast playing in the sand and ocean water. Elkin was so personable and welcoming plus took the best pictures and video of us. 10/10

A Peaceful Pirate Boat Ride and Exclusive Beach Experience
The pirate boat ride I recently took offered a unique and relaxing experience, a refreshing deviation from the usual adventure-themed excursions. The atmosphere on board was peaceful, with soothing music playing in the background that contributed to a calm and laid-back vibe. The staff was notably helpful and attentive throughout the trip. It was impressive to see they were fluent in both English and Spanish, making it easy for everyone to communicate and feel included, regardless of their language preference. A standout feature of this excursion was the exclusive beach destination, where we were treated to amazing food and drinks. The exclusivity of the beach added to the relaxation, as we were able to enjoy our time without anyone harassing us to buy things—a common occurrence at more public beaches. Zero crowd. Additionally, the provision of free drinks on the boat, both on the way to the beach and back, was a nice touch of hospitality that guests appreciated. Overall, the ride was a pleasant and relaxing way to spend the day, particularly for those looking to unwind and enjoy a leisurely trip to a beautiful, hassle-free beach.

Mixed experience
We did the full day tour and had a mixed experience. We went on a Saturday in November and were surprised that we were the only two people booked for the tour that day. The guys on the boat were very nice and kept our drinks fresh. They did not speak much English, and there was very little information provided throughout the boat ride, but it was relaxing and fun. All of our time on the boat itself was enjoyable. Things went downhill when we got to the island. Our "guide" for the fort was late, and we were not given an option if we wanted to tour the fort or not. Once he arrived, he was informative and showed us part of the fort but part of it was closed off for renovations so we were not able to see very much. Despite this, he demanded a large amount of tips from us and would not leave us alone until we paid up, for a tour that we did not ask for and could not even complete. The beach we were brought to was not clean, and no other tourists were in sight. The two staff at the "beach club" were friendly but we felt uncomfortable there. Flies and other bugs were constantly around us, the beer cans provided us to drink were very dirty, and the bathrooms were the worst I saw in Colombia. We tried to make the best of it for a little while but eventually walked back to the boat and just sat on the boat for an hour until they were ready to take us back to Cartagena. The whole trip would have been better without the beach, if we had just spent time on the boat the whole time. The guys on the boat were kind, and the drinks were good. The whole experience was just very different than what was advertised on their website, and we felt uncomfortable and out of place during the time on the island.

Pirate Adventure in Cartagena: A Day of Magic and Memories
An absolutely unforgettable experience on the pirate ship in Cartagena! 🏴☠️⚓️ Everything was perfect from start to finish. The captain was incredibly friendly, the service was outstanding, and the crew was always smiling and helpful. The lunch on the nearby island was simply delicious — huge thanks to everyone who prepared that feast for us. 🌴🍹 The guide who took us around the fortress (wish I could remember the name!) was so knowledgeable and professional. With endless cocktails, breathtaking views, and the amazing atmosphere on board, it was truly an unforgettable day. Thank you to the whole team for such a magical experience! 🙌🌊

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.
How much does Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.
Is Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 69 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch?
+
Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Luxury Pirate Beach Adventure, Open sea Rope Swing, Drinks &Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cartagena?
+
On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cartagena Antigua & Barrio Getsemani group with audio system, Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena VIP Boat Tour: Rosario Islands & Snorkel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cartagena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cartagena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
