    It’s a long day… But a fun one

Where to start…? I think it’s important to keep in mind that you’re gonna visit very cool places that might be a ones-a-lifetime expirience. Overall it’s a fun trip, you get to see amazing places. The guide we got was kind and very professional. The car we drove was comfortable considering they drive 160km/t most of the time. Here’s things to keep in mind: *PAYMENT* Agree on the price, try to get it in written or text. Tried to charge 100 USD more than agreed and always an excuse to why the price is higher. I will also say that it’s clear the guide had very little say in this, he was very kind. This came from the leaders of this. *Car ride* They say 4h but we spend 5,5-6h each way, so pack a good amount of snacks and food, not only breakfast from the hotel if you get that. You do stop at a gas station so you can use the toilet and buy snacks. *Take headphones with you* I believe they have the same 4 songs saved on their playlist in the car, one being 50 Cent, In Tha Club. Cool the first time, kinda tired of it the 3847 time. *Painkillers, good shoes and plasters* You’re out in the heat for seveal hours and you get one official lunchbreak. Pack plasters for blisteres, take food with you and painkillers if you get a headache etc. Have fun, and also: Yes, it’s normal that they ask for passport copies.

    Long day but worth it!

Pros: + Activities in Luxor well organized, good time in each place + Guide informative, helpful and professional + Clean and fresh car with friendly drivers + very helpful before the trip when we had to move the date twice because of illness! :) Cons - lot of trouble with paying the trip, took a lot of effort to make them accept the correct price and not almost 100 USD higher than agreed - car trip was supposed to be 4h. Turned out to be almost 6h and we were 1h late from the plan - same 5 songs playing in the car for hours is not very enjoyable - we were promised private trip, it was changed (asked us first and we agreed) to be 4 people, turned in the end to be 6 people All in all worth it, a long day, make sure to stay firm with the prices and do not book any extra activities on the website (Tutankhamon tomb cost over double on website…)

Response from the operator: Dear Ella Thank you for taking the time to write your review and thank you for booking your private tours with Marsa Alam Tours. We look forward to meeting you.

It was an enteresting experience. Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings are mindblowing. Hoda is a good guide and has a lot of information to share. As long as you will tell what you like and, especially, what you don't like, everything will be great.

    A day I'll never forget!

I spent a lovely day with my guide Samah. She showed me amazing places, including Habu Temple, which was one of the best parts and I recommend to take it extra if possible (it was easy to squeeze it in for one person, I'm not sure about a bigger group). The driver was very professional and nice, drove safely and gave me my space during the long transfer from El Gouna to Luxor and back. First we visited Karnak, where Samah gave me a lot of information and answered all my questions. It's a very impressive site. I was surprised that in some places the paint still preserves it's color and they still can be seen looking almost like they looked like thousands years ago. The structure of the buildings is also well preserved, it's hard to believe walls, columns and obelisks can survive so long. After short visit at Memnon colossus site, we went to a nearby cafe Ali Baba for a coffee. Inside a colorful tent-like place (not promising from outside, but very charming inside!) Samah told me the fascinating story of Hatshepsut. Then we headed to Hatshepsut temple. The way there is very picturesque and seeing the temple from the distance is already an amazing experience. Then we went to King's Valley, where I visited tombs of a few Ramesseses (I, III and IX) + Tutankhamons tomb. It was a very special experience to walk through those ancient corridors covered with pictures and hieroglyphs. The last stop was Habu Temple - a really big site with almost no people. We arrived there around 16 and in the late sunlight it looked amazing. I was surprised that there were so little tourists. Lunch was very nice, local food, no pizza or pasta. Samah was helpful and flexible, offered a lot and followed my choices and wishes regarding the tour. Of course you'll be sometimes annoyed by people trying to sell you things, terrible coffee at WC stops, empty compliments, questions "where are you from?" followed by greetings in your language. Don't give your phone to guys offering you a photo on the sites, it's never for free. It's all unavoidable, but with a good guide you will be able to pass them with a polite smile and short "no, thanks". Luxor is really worth visiting, even if you have to drive 4.5 hours one way. It's really touching to see works of architecture and art from thousands years ago, connecting with ancient people, their life, ambitions and imagination. Every one of this places is worth a visit and here you can see many in just one day.

Speed of organization, helpful negotiations, time accuracy, quality staff

A day trip with the Marsalam agency was unique. Speed of organization, helpful negotiations, time accuracy, quality staff - all this makes this agency excellent. We visited Egypt for the first time and found the agency by accident via the internet, as the hotel was not able to recommend anyone to us. The amazing experience of the whole trip was underlined by a visit to Karnak Temples and Valley of Kings and especially by a great guide Darek. A nice, pleasant young man with perfect English and acting on the level only intensified the whole experience. Excellent and highly recommended. We would only suggest, instead of visiting the production of papyrus and alabaster products, we would rather include the Valley of the Queens in the program.

Response from the operator: Dear ClairePrague Thank you very much for your great review for Marsa Alam Tours Agency and We are happy to hear that you satisfied and had a great time in Egypt. Thank you for recommending us to other Customers see you in Egypt soon Best Regards

luxor private day tour from El Gouna: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.

How much does luxor private day tour from El Gouna cost?

    +

Prices start at $213 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does luxor private day tour from El Gouna take?

    +

Plan for about 0.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.

Is luxor private day tour from El Gouna worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule luxor private day tour from El Gouna?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is luxor private day tour from El Gouna suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book luxor private day tour from El Gouna?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 0.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does luxor private day tour from El Gouna start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hurghada?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip W/Lunch & Transfer from Hurghada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hurghada?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hurghada?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
