original Hop on hop off. 👎
Purchased tickets from vendor at pick up point in the late evening, was told if purchased now you can take the last boat ride and it won’t count against ticket that was to be used next day and good for 24 hours, ten minutes later at the boat tour the trip was not taken on passengers. Was told if you would like I will put you on the Blue bus route now at no charge and you can use the ticket for the red route next day, along with hop on hop off for the boat round trip cruise. Went on Blue route that first night and driver made us exit bus no where close to starting point saying he was done for the night and had to return to the yard. Next day we used tickets on the Red Route and after taking the tour decided to take the river cruise for a round trip to see the city from the water, well the boat went as far as The Tower of London where once again everyone was made to get off even though it was couple hours before service was scheduled to end for the day. Never could speak with anyone on the street other then the ticket hustlers who could not help in anyway other then to tell us to email the company and we did just that and still waiting on a reply. Not sure if the other honor hop off companies are any better but they can’t be much worse, promise a lot of service and deliver on very few. Not worth the price of admission in my opinion. The guide on the short boat ride begging for tips was pathetic.

Disappointing service
We didn't have a good experience with toot bus (the original bus). Granted we were a large group but it took ok several attempts to get on the first bus. One bus had enough room but the driver refused entry. Even another employee said that driver was rude and was going to report him. Later on we waited for over 45 minutes for a bus to arrive at a stop. The bus never came despite seeing several buses from other companies pass by. We ended up having to walk several kms back to our hostel almost missing our dinner. We didn't see another toot bus on the walk back and this was hours before the noted end of operation time

Avoid unless you enjoy waiting...
I bought a multi day pass. Monday we did the Red route and it was good. Tuesday we did the Blue route and it was a disaster before we even stopped foot onto the bus. We waited at stop 21 for nearly 30min before a bus finally came, we stepped forward along with another group that was also waiting. The blue route bus driver slowed down but did not stop and kept going. We then had to wait another 30min for another bus to come, which by this time the other group had given up and left. After getting off at Harrods and doing our own thing we returned back to the stop just before 2pm. We waited and waited and found a lovley worker (whom i felt so sorry for as she had copped it from a few people regarding the wait) she told us the bus was 10min away and showed us the tracking. 20min later and the bus finally arrived, so we ended us waiting for basically an 1hr before the bus FINALLY arrived!!! It clearly shows that they prioritise the red route being there most popular to make sure they are running but clearly the blue bus route and most likely the others, the operations team and management couldn't care less, because they would ensure there is enough buses to meet the advised bus running times of 15-20min (as stated on their website). Will never be using this company again.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We do try to inform our customers about any events or circumstances that could cause disruption to our service and I'm sorry that we didn't manage to do that in your case. We really appreciate all customer feedback and will use it to continue improving our service. Tootbus London Team

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise) cost?
+
Prices start at $14 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise) take?
+
Plan for about 0.7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 528 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise)?
+
Around 185 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 0.7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does London Tootbus Hop-on Hop-off (Optional Thames Cruise) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
