    About this experience

Oh, Mary! is an uproariously dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola). Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, Oh, Mary! received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton). For 8 weeks only, the inimitable Cole Escola will reprise their Tony Award winning performance as Mary Todd Lincoln, followed by Mason Alexander Park (The Sandman, Cabaret) from 26 January.

know what and who you are going to see and then enjoy!

The bad reviews site that the show is camp, lewd, panto-like, and has over the top acting. That is the point. That is the joke. If you don't already know Cole Escola, the writer, do some googling. If you don't like what you see, you will not like Oh, Mary! If you like Cole, you will LOVE the unhinged characters and the bizarre plot. It's not OTT for shock value. It's a nod to that eccentric friend you have who just can't help themselves. The friend that has you doubled over laughing one minute and the next minute you are ready to write them off out of frustration...until you get a glimpse of what is driving them and you are pulled right back in by your heartstrings. The show lives or dies by whoever is playing Mary, so make sure to go on a night that features an actor you enjoy. It is a lot of fun!

    Never Buy from ATG Tickets

ATG tickets terrible customer service. Purchased most expensive tickets for incorrect night. Bought same tickets for another night and they refused to refund money for the incorrect night even though they said exchange was the only recourse. Referred me to a terrible ticket resale app Twickets, equally substandard. Do not buy from ATG.

    Naff

This was genuinely painful to sit through. The plot was thin and the script relied exclusively on overacting and predictable and juvenile vulgarity to get laughs rather than genuine wit.

    Meh!

I’m afraid to say, I the found this performance contrived . The humour wasn’t clever, in fact it wasn’t even funny. Very pantomime-ish with lots of shouting and exaggerated over acting. I wasn’t expecting anything high brow but this was puerile. Silly school boy jokes about sex and bodily functions. I was mostly bored

    Not for everyone

The humour is crass and basic and I felt it was overacted with unnecessary shouting. We couldn’t sit through the whole thing and left halfway through - which was a first for me. If you like very obvious sexual jokes, you might like it but if you’re looking for intelligent, witty humour you will not find it here.

London Theatre: Oh, Mary!: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does London Theatre: Oh, Mary! cost?

    +

Prices start at $32 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does London Theatre: Oh, Mary! take?

    +

Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is London Theatre: Oh, Mary! worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule London Theatre: Oh, Mary!?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is London Theatre: Oh, Mary! suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book London Theatre: Oh, Mary!?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does London Theatre: Oh, Mary! start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

    +

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

    +

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
