    Good food, not enough variety.

We were not expecting the tour to include a visit to the national museum, which we had scheduled for another day, so we got started slowly with the “food” portion of the tour. The market place was a great place to visit and try some snacks and the restaurant where we tried the Ghanaian food was really good. We are used to food tours including 3-4 stops for various dishes, which is why this is rated as four stars. Our guide and driver were pleasant and provided nice conversation about Accra.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback sir. We are glad you enjoyed your tour.

    Would highly recommend...

Would highly recommend this food tour experience! My friend and I had a great time and ate and drank so well during the tour—this isn’t one of those typical “small taste” type of tours you might experience elsewhere so come hungry and ask them to wrap things up to go for you if you can’t finish. Ransford was amazing and really cared about the experience we had. We can’t wait to come back and try some of their other tour experiences. This was a great activity to kick off our time in country !🫶🏾

Response from the operator: Thank you Jade, It was an honor hosting you.

Sets the Tone for the Rest of the Trip

The food tour was AMAZING! I did the tour with my best friend and we decided to do this on the first day of our trip to give us an idea of what to expect when it comes to food. We had a great time and lots of good eats thanks to Ransford! Everything we had, from the street food and drink at Makola market to the food at the restaurant, we enjoyed. We also really liked being able to stop by the National Museum to hear more about the culture, past and present. Would highly recommend this tour!

    Very Thoughtful Food Tour

Right after arriving in Ghana, I met with Kofi (the owner) from Guide Kophi Tour at a at a Ghanaian restaurant to discuss the tours that he offered. This initial meet-up included a wide array of delicious local dishes to help with my understanding of Ghanian food. The following day began with a tour of a local market where I learned about native Ghanaian foods, fruits, and vegetables. As part of the tour, we had plans to try some street food, but due to my tight schedule, we did not, and so we ventured on to the next stop which was a local restaurant with a wide array of Ghanian food. Kofi took the time to explain the different foods and their ingredients and their cultural significance. I particularly enjoyed the Jollof rice and the goat meat soup at this restaurant. Kofi's food tour is impeccably organized. Kofi's timeliness and attentive understanding of my preferences ensured the tour was personalized and special. With Guide Kophi Tour, you get exceptional value for your money through a combination of privacy, personal engagement, and professionalism.

Response from the operator: Thank you. It was a pleasure serving you

Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Accra.

How much does Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours cost?

    +

Prices start at $145 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Accra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Accra is not rushed.

Is Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Accra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Accra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Accra and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Accra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Accra?

    +

On Outty we rank every Accra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Experience the Beauty, History and the Culture Of Accra in a Day, Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle & Kakum National Park Day Tour, Accra Guided City Tour: Cultural and Historical Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Accra?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Accra?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours?

    +

Included: Private transportation; Lunch; All Fees and Taxes; and Drinks. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 16 listed pickup locations in and around Accra. Be ready about 60 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Local Ghanaian Food Tasting Tours offered in?

    +

It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
