What you'll see and do

  1. Igreja de Santa Maria Maior

Lisbon’s oldest church... and still standing (despite earthquakes, invasions, and crooked selfies).Built in the 12th century, the Sé is basically the grandma of Lisbon’s monuments. And like any Portuguese grandma, she’s got a lot of stories — from kings and crusades to spies and saints. From the outside, it looks like a medieval fortress (those twin towers are basically dragon-proof). Inside? Silence, stained glass, ancient relics — and a sacred, mysterious vibe. It’s the kind of place where time stops — and your echo reminds you of it.Hot tip: if it’s open, head up to the cloister — where Roman ruins and medieval walls meet in a quiet little “wow” moment, away from the crowds.

    10 minutes here

  2. Graca & Sao Vicente

Two Lisbon neighborhoods, double the charm — with views that’ll steal your heart! Perched high above the city, Graça is Lisbon’s chill rooftop hangout. Known for its famous viewpoints like Miradouro da Graça and Senhora do Monte, it’s where locals unwind, photographers snap epic shots, and sunset lovers find their happy place. Cozy cafes, vibrant street art, and friendly faces make Graça feel like the city’s best-kept secret. Just next door, São Vicente brings history and stunning rooftops together. Surrounding the iconic Church of São Vicente de Fora, this neighborhood is a treasure chest of winding streets, royal tombs, and panoramic views that stretch all the way to the sparkling Tagus River. It’s a cultural hotspot with artisan shops and markets, full of that authentic Lisbon vibe. Whether you’re here for the views, the vibe, or a little bit of both, Graça and São Vicente deliver the perfect slice of Lisbon life — with a side of breathtaking scenery.

  3. Miradouro Da Senhora Do Monte

Welcome to the viewpoint that should come with a warning: "High risk of speechlessness!" Senhora do Monte isn’t just a view — it’s a 360º show with front-row seats to Lisbon’s greatest hits.

    10 minutes here

  4. Igreja de Sao Vicente de Fora

Big faith, bigger rooftops — and some royal roommates! This stunning church has been watching over Lisbon since it was built between 1582 and 1629 — talk about long-term commitment! São Vicente de Fora is dedicated to Saint Vincent, Lisbon’s patron saint, and it’s packed with history, marble, and royal drama. Inside? Expect soaring ceilings, echo-worthy silence, and that grand Renaissance style that says, “We built this to impress — and nailed it.” Down below? The Pantheon of the Braganza family, Portugal’s royal clan, has their final VIP resting spot here — basically the royal family’s exclusive underground lounge since the 17th century. But the real treat? Head up to the rooftop terrace for one of Lisbon’s most underrated panoramic views. Endless red rooftops, the sparkling Tagus River, and a breeze that’s basically a free Lisbon makeover for your hair. Saints, kings, secrets, and selfies — this stop has it all.

    Pass by without stopping

  5. Alfama

Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood — where every street tells a story and every corner hides a surprise! Alfama dates back to the Moorish period, over a thousand years ago, making it the heartbeat of old Lisbon. Wander its narrow, winding streets and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time — but with a lively, colorful twist. This neighborhood survived earthquakes, fires, and time itself, keeping its charm, character, and those famous tiled facades. It’s the place where fado music was born — that soulful Portuguese sound that’ll tug at your heartstrings. Get ready for cozy cafes, hidden viewpoints, street art, and locals who’ll welcome you like an old friend. And watch out — those hills will test your legs but reward you with some of the best views in the city! History, culture, music, and a little bit of adventure — Alfama has it all.

    Pass by without stopping

  6. Where history meets drama — and some seriously impressive ceilings! This majestic building has been standing tall since its construction started in 1670 and was finally completed in 1966 — yep, that’s almost 300 years of pure patience and architectural dedication! Originally a church, the National Pantheon became the final resting place for some of Portugal’s most famous figures — think presidents, writers, fado legends, and national heroes all under one spectacular dome. Step inside and prepare to be wowed by soaring white vaults, grand arches, and a light-filled interior that feels like the perfect mix of solemn and spectacular. And don’t miss the rooftop terrace — climb up and be rewarded with stunning 360º views of Lisbon’s rooftops, the Tagus River, and beyond. It’s like the city rolled out the red carpet just for you. History buffs, selfie lovers, and architecture fans — everyone’s welcome here!

Touring Modern Lisbon with Nelson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We met Nelson in front of our hotel on Avenida da Liberdade and shared our wish list with him. Since we already planned to visit the Botanical Garden first, he agreed to pick us up there afterward. That is where our tuk-tuk adventure began. We agreed on a price based on the length of the tour and our desire to explore Lisbon’s modern Expo district. Nelson created an itinerary that suited our interests and pace perfectly. Tuk-tuk rides can naturally be a little bumpy, but Nelson did his best to keep the journey comfortable and smooth. Along the way, he shared fascinating details about Lisbon’s history, architecture, and urban development that we would never have discovered on our own. We stopped at the Vasco da Gama shopping center for delicious gelato, explored the area’s impressive public art, and visited the Vasco da Gama Tower for a drink at the 360º bar. We then continued toward the aquarium, enjoying the beautiful views and taking photos by the park and cascading fountain. The ride back along the river was equally enjoyable, filled with thoughtful conversation about Lisbon’s growth and history. Nelson was warm, accommodating, and exceptionally knowledgeable, answering every question with genuine insight. We loved the pace of the tour and would gladly recommend him to friends planning a visit to Lisbon.

Tuga Tours Team

A personalised street art tour

Carlos took us on a custom-planned street art tour of Lisbon, and it was one of the absolute highlights of our stay. He was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely entertaining, giving us real insight into the artwork we saw and the history behind it. His passion for the city and its street art really came across and made the whole experience so much more interesting. Nothing was too much trouble, and he happily stopped at plenty of great locations for photos along the way. The tour never felt rushed and was tailored to what we wanted to see. This has become one of our favourite memories from Lisbon, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Carlos to anyone looking for something a little different and far more personal than a standard sightseeing tour. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that your personalized street art tour with Carlos was one of the highlights of your stay in Lisbon. Creating unique experiences tailored to our guests' interests is something we truly enjoy, and it's fantastic to know that Carlos helped make your visit so memorable. On behalf of the entire Tuga Tours team, thank you for choosing us for your Lisbon adventure. We hope to welcome you back in the future to discover even more of the city's hidden gems! Best Way to See Lisbon

We did our tour with David and he was incredibly thoughtful and accommodating for our friend’s bachelorette trip. He arranged a larger tuk-tuk for our group, coordinated the meetup spot, and took us to some amazing locations around Lisboa. He was flexible when our group needed to pivot to grab food (hangry girls, not fun) and helped us see so much more of the city than we would have on our own. Mind you, amazing photographer! What made this tour so memorable was David’s excitement for Portugal and the pride he took in sharing its beauty with us. Highly recommend and thanks again!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review and for choosing Tuga Tours for such a special occasion. We are delighted to hear that David helped make your friend's bachelorette trip memorable and enjoyable. Providing personalized experiences and showing our guests the authentic side of Lisbon is what we love most, so it's wonderful to know that the tour, the arrangements, and the locations visited met your expectations. We will be sure to share your lovely feedback with David. Your support means a lot to our entire team. We hope to welcome you back to Lisbon for another adventure with Tuga Tours in the future. Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories cost?

+

Prices start at $12 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories take?

+

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories?

+

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Lisbon Tuk Adventure: Secret Views, Hidden Streets Local Stories start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

+

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
