Inaugurated in October 2016 within the framework of EDP Foundation’s long-running policy of cultural patronage, MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology is an international institution dedicated to arouse critical discourse and creative practice with the intent of sparking new understandings about the historical present and a responsible commitment to the future. Located on the riverfront in Lisbon’s historical Belém district, MAAT comprises a former power station built in 1908 – MAAT Central – and a contemporary building – MAAT Gallery – connected via a park that extends along the River Tagus: MAAT Garden. The Fábrica Nacional de Cordoaria, or Cordoaria Nacional, belonged to the Portuguese Navy. This was where the cables, sisal ropes, sails and flags that equipped the Portuguese ships were manufactured. The building, which dates to the 1770s, has been classified as a national monument since 1996. The art gallery, housed in the Torreão Nascente (Eastern Tower), regularly holds major exhibitions from Portuguese and international collections.

Original Name: The bridge's construction began in November 1962 and it was inaugurated on August 6, 1966. It was originally named the Ponte Salazar (Salazar Bridge) in honor of António de Oliveira Salazar, Portugal's dictator at the time.

Very good
Booked this tour as an add on from the Belém tour that I did previously that morning. There was some slight confusion as my booking time said 1900 and there was no meeting point on my booking but thankfully my previous tour guide was able to confirm the meeting time was actually at 18:15 and he was able to give me the location of the meeting point. Miguel and ricardo were our tour guides and they were fantastic. I sat on the very front of the boat and they would come and give me lots of information about the sites we were passing and making sure my glass was always full. They even offered to take photos for me throughout the cruise. Blankets would have been offered but unfortunately the guys forgot to check they had them on board before departure! I had planned ahead and took a jacket with me so it wasn’t too bad. Woukd definitely recommend this tour just make sure you confirm the time and location of the meeting point just incase you get the same confusion I had!

We had an amazing time on the Sunset Cruise . (Captain Martin), The views were absolutely beautiful, especially during sunset. The crew was friendly, professional, and made everyone feel welcome throughout the trip. The boat was clean, comfortable, and the entire experience was relaxing from start to finish.

We had a great night. Bennie was amazing and gave us some great history on Portugal. She was very entertaining and engaging. Would definitely recommend this excursion to family and friends. 😊😊
