    About this experience

Sailors, fishermen and sea merchants, often away from home, were the pioneers of this musical genre, an emotion of longing or homesickness for their distant loved ones. We want to take you on a walking tour through the historical neighborhoods of Lisbon where fado has its roots so you understand the traditional lifestyle of the city and to feel the vibe of the city. Walking through the most emblematic places for Fado and for “fadistas” , where this music genre became famous, first as the soul of Lisbon but today a whole Portuguese identity. We start at Bairro Alto, where Fado became famous among the high classes, heading next to Mouraria where, according to the traditions, the first famous fado singer was born: Severa. Next is Alfama where Fado can be heard in every corner and where you will have a delicious Portuguese meal and a live fado show. Silence fado will be sung.

    This was a wonderful...

This was a wonderful experience. Hugo picked us up from the hotel and was amazing. Gave us some history about the city then took us to the Fado Show with was absolutely amazing. The food was excellent. We had the codfish dish, the salad, and I told them to choose my dessert. All I can say is amazing. This is a must do. Small group. And the singers and musicians you could tell they loved what they were doing. After dinner Hugo drove us to a very nice lookout where we could see the beauty of Lisbon at night. I would recommend this tour wholeheartedly. When we return and we will return I will be doing this tour again. Booking was easy and they picked us up at the hotel which is what I was looking for.

    Bait and Switch experience

Our experience is that they are a bait and switch. Offer one experience, provide a completely different, sub-par one. Our tour listed including "local delicacies (+15 samplings of traditional food and live performances in 2 different Fado houses" but in fact we had a 30 minute driving tour of the city, then the (very nice) driver dropped us off at a restaurant full of cruise ship tourists, and a very limited menu of very much NOT local foods, and a pretty crummy music performance. In fact, we left mid-way and found our own experience. And their response when I asked about this was equally pathetic - that Lisbon is experiencing high tourism, which has impacted the atmosphere and service at local fado restaurants. Just go to the Fado yourself - it's very manageable!

Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 133 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up?

    +

Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Lisbon Small-Group Tour: Fado Show and Dinner with Pick-up start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
