SINTRA 1/2 day with Pena Palace tickets
Our guide was right there to greet us when we arrived at the meeting place. Our planned day had to be slightly altered due to the rain, but Julio, our guide navigated the changes to accommodate the most important sites of our SINTRA excursion. Stopped at a local restaurant to enjoy some pastries to wait for the rain to end and on our way to Pena palace. Super informative! Gave us opportunities to take a few pictures on the way back of important statues or areas of interest in Lisbon. A genuinely nice person and knowledgeable. Our thanks to him for a great half day trip!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. It truly means a lot. Your feedback helps us keep improving and delivering the level of service we stand for: authentic, local and premium. We’re delighted to know you enjoyed the day, and we’ll be here to welcome you again whenever you return to Portugal. Until then, we wish you wonderful travels ahead, and if friends or family are planning to visit, we would be honoured to take care of them too. Warm regards, Ó Turista – Local Hosts of Portugal

Left in the lurch
Arrived at 8:50 at Hard Rock cafe for a 9am departure to Sintra. The two groups there were for other travelers. No one met us. The phone numbers provided are either invalid or do not answer. We were never contacted on WhatsApp.We paid $200 for this and are extremely disappointed.
Response from the operator: We sincerely apologize for what happened and fully understand your disappointment. That morning, four of our vehicles departed from the Hard Rock Cafe meeting point, all identified, with approximately 32 guests divided into groups of up to 8 people. Unfortunately, due to a coordination error, one of our guides mistakenly took two guests who were actually booked with another operator. The Hard Rock Cafe area is a meeting point used by many different tour companies, which contributed to the confusion, but ultimately this was an operational mistake on our side and we take responsibility for it. As soon as you contacted us and we confirmed what had happened, your booking was fully refunded. We are very sorry that you were left waiting and that you were unable to join the tour you had booked. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we have reviewed the situation internally to help prevent the same mistake from happening again.

Sintra and Pena Palace Tour
Mello (Rodrigo) was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and personable towards all guests. The vehicle was full, but comfortable. Mello was a great communicator with the guests from 3 different countries, and was happy to find out details about all guests. He explained everything in great detail, including the history and architecture of botg Sintra and Portugal.

Pena Palace Tour with Rodrigo!
We had an amazing time on this tour! Our tour guide Rodrigo was so incredible!!! He was great with educating us on the history of Portugal and had a great sense of humor. He took us through this beautiful garden on our way up to the castle that felt very private, away from the other tourists. He also was able to cut down our wait time into the castle that was a huge up side! Lots of thanks to Rodrigo who made this experience so wonderful! We will definitely rebook with him when we return to Portugal!

Why this scores 90
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 602 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets?
+
Around 211 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lisbon: Sintra Half-Day Guided Tour with Pena Palace Tickets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
