Lisbon’s seafaring history by boat.
This is a lovely way to see Lisbon’s seafaring history. Our captain and crew were very friendly and informative. The wine was crisp and refreshing. We did two hours on the wide saltwater river. It was perfect.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Jane! We’re delighted you enjoyed discovering Lisbon’s seafaring history from the Tagus, along with the sailing, the company, and a glass of refreshing wine. It was a pleasure having you aboard, and we hope to sail with you again someday!

Highlight of our visit to Lsbon
We booked Sailing with Sal after watching Michael Portillo's visit to Lisbon on television. We are so glad we did! Miguel, the captain, was excellent company with a great sense of humour and we enjoyed many laughs. He was also proved to be very knowledgeable about the history and many sights of Lisbon. Mariana was his extremely capable assistant. They both made us all feel very safe and comfortable. We were treated to a complimentary glass of local wine and cold beer. So relaxing! Viewing Lisbon and its coastline from the sea is a truly unique experience and definitely not to be missed. Thank you Miguel and Mariana.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! It was a pleasure to welcome you aboard. I’m glad you enjoyed the time on the water, the stories of Lisbon, and the laughs along the way. I’ll share your kind words with Mariana, and we hope to welcome you back whenever you’re next in Lisbon. Fair winds!

Special time on a glorious sailing yacht in excellent company
We are 2 couples and together hired Miguels beautiful sailing yacht to take us on a day tour from Lisbon to Cascais and return. Miguel, our experienced Skipper, and the lovely Beatriz, looked after us well, with liquid refreshments and nibbles, sharing information on the beautiful coastline and many other interesting facts and friendly chatter. Whilst the tide was against us, we did manage to enjoy a part of the journey under sail. The boat was very comfortable ...we had a couple of hours to explore Cascais before returning to Lisbon. A truly delightful day Many thanks to both
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! 😊 It was truly a pleasure to spend the day with you all sailing along the coast to Cascais. We’re very happy you enjoyed the boat, the relaxed atmosphere on board, and the time exploring Cascais as part of the journey. Even with the tide making things a little more challenging, we’re glad we still managed to enjoy some sailing together. Thank you as well for your lovely company throughout the day — it honestly felt like sailing with friends. We hope to welcome you back on board someday for another adventure on the Portuguese coast! ⛵

Great hosts, great sailing trip.
Miguel and his daughter Bea were excellent hosts. They provided our family with a safe, fun and educational evening trip. The sailboat was very clean and maintained. I would highly recommend them for your sailing adventure and water tour of Portugal!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a real pleasure having you and your family on board. We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience — especially the mix of fun, learning, and a relaxed time on the river. That’s exactly what we aim for. Bea and I loved sharing this moment with you, and we truly appreciate your recommendation. Wishing you all the best, and hopefully we’ll see you again for another sail in the future!

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 48 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River?
+
Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lisbon: Private Sailing Tour Along the Tagus River start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
