Amazing trip to relax and understand how sailing works!
We had a fantastic sailtrip with Miguel and his son. Allthough we had very little wind during the beginning of our trip, we learned soo much about how to sail their beautiful boat and how to spot and catch the wind. We learned all about the diferent sails and taking&jibing, we even put up the spinaker! And when the wind did pick up, we spent our time trimming and pushing the boat to go real fast! It was absolutely worth the money to be in a small group. It was a really nice atmosphere with some fado music and some nice personal chat’s. Miguel helped us understand our environment and Portuguese culture. If you are interested in understanding how sailing works and at the same time relax and enjoy it and not have it feel like a crazy work-out, then go for Sailing with Sal!

Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant
Well what a fabulous experience. Four of us went on the private tour to Cascais. Skipper Miguel and mate Lawence were amazing. Miguel was very good at explaining some local history and how to sail and navigate the boat. Lawrence made sure we were well looked after during the day trip. The sun shone but with low wind on the outward journey there was little opportunity for the sails to propel the boat. This detracted nothing and on the return with more wind we did get back under sail for a good proportion of the return journey. We had a swim stop and a break in Cascais for lunch. The whole experience was about 6 hours and worth every cent. We would highly recommend a trip out on Sal if you are in Lisbon. We would have no hesitation to book another trip should we return. Thanks to Miguel and Lawrence for a truly memorable day. Andy, Caz, Paul and Judith
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Andy, Caz, Paul, and Judith! What a pleasure it was to have you all aboard for the sail to Cascais. I’m really happy you enjoyed the day, the sailing, and the swim — even with the light winds at first! Lawrence and I had a great time sharing the trip with you. Hope to welcome you back on Sailing with Sal next time you’re in Lisbon for another memorable day on the water!

Unforgettable experience, amazing fun & team building activity! Highly Recommend!
I recently booked a sailing trip on the Tagus River with my colleagues and it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The boat was impeccably clean and felt very secure throughout our journey. Our skipper, Miguel, was a true professional - he was not only an excellent navigator but also a fantastic host, teaching us a few sailing techniques and sharing insights about the area. We were even lucky enough to spot some dolphins!! The entire trip was so well organized and fun. If you're looking for a top-notch sailing experience in Lisbon, this is the one to book. A huge thank you to Miguel for making it so special!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Marta, for your incredibly kind words! It was a real pleasure welcoming you and your colleagues on board, and I’m thrilled to hear you enjoyed every moment — dolphins included, which are always such a magical surprise! I’m glad you felt both safe and at ease, and that you enjoyed learning a bit about sailing along the way. Your enthusiasm made the trip even more fun for me too. I truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you all back on the Tagus for another adventure!

Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River take?
+

Is Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Lisbon: Private Hands-On Sailing Experience on the Tagus River start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
