What you get

    About this experience

During the short days and long dark nights in Winter, Amsterdam becomes a place of Magic and Wonder. About 20 Light Art Works will be shown in and around the city’s Canals. Imagine yourself: A warm glass of gluhwein in your hands, the sound of water lapping softly against the sides of the boat as we drift beneath Amsterdam’s iconic bridges, Magical Artworks and past its magnificent 17th-century canal houses. On board this amazingly comfortable and quiet electric boat, you’ll have, mulled wine, a panoramic view of the city, and a front-row seat to these wonderful art exhibitions. Especially, as onboard you can go up close and even through these pieces! We have been closely involved with this festival. We’ll discuss the artist’s inspiration, what moves them, and what they want to express through their work. We’ll share ideas, insights, and opinions and hopefully, we’ll all leave more inspired, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about art and what it can offer us.

Light Festival Boat trip: a top experience!

At the end of December I made a cruise along the artworks of the Amsterdam Light Festival. What a snug and cozy place to be in such a beautiful little saloon boat. You can see everything much better and we could also get very close to the Amsterdam replica, for example. This is not possible with the regular tour drills. And of course there were also super well-groomed snacks and drinks. Thanks to skipper Rocco for the knowledgeable and cheerful explanation during the trip. If you get the chance: DO IT!! Response from the operator: Bedankt voor deze 5 sterren review. Het was geweldig om je het Amsterdam Light Festival van dichtbij te kunnen laten zien en beleven.

    Fantastic Outing

This was a great cruise! Captain Cole was amazing and did a fantastic job explaining the lights and different sites we saw! My mom had a hard time getting into the boat but he was very helpful! The wine and snacks were the perfect addition. We stayed very warm inside with the blankets. I would highly recommend this cruise and Captain Cole!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does Light‌ ‌Festival‌ ‌Boat Tour max. 10 Guests incl. Gluwhein/Snacks cost?

    +

Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Light‌ ‌Festival‌ ‌Boat Tour max. 10 Guests incl. Gluwhein/Snacks take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

    Is Light‌ ‌Festival‌ ‌Boat Tour max. 10 Guests incl. Gluwhein/Snacks worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    Can I cancel or reschedule Light‌ ‌Festival‌ ‌Boat Tour max. 10 Guests incl. Gluwhein/Snacks?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Light‌ ‌Festival‌ ‌Boat Tour max. 10 Guests incl. Gluwhein/Snacks suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Light‌ ‌Festival‌ ‌Boat Tour max. 10 Guests incl. Gluwhein/Snacks?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Light‌ ‌Festival‌ ‌Boat Tour max. 10 Guests incl. Gluwhein/Snacks start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
