Yala National Park
We are one of leading tour service provider in Yala Since 1984. Park Gate is opens at 6 AM and we are ready to drive then. First Try is to get in to the park as one of first Jeeps. That will give us maximum opportunities everyday. Early morning first 2 hours and the day end last 2 hours is the golden hours for the leopard spotting. Therefore we will not waste our time with the common animals or birds within this time. After this Golden Hours we will change the driving style in to explaining process and stop by every single thing we see on our route. Within this tours to Yala, Big 3 is Leopard, Sloth Bear & Elephants. Other than that Many other different animal like Crocodiles, Monkeys, Deers, Birds, Jackals, Mongoose..... Many people in there reviews mentioned that the Yala is very busy, I have to say this, We will not drive only the main road of the park. Over set of Toyota Hilux/Toyota Land Cruiser Jeeps are able to Drive any road in the park and we will.

Yala Safari 🐆
Although the safari element was excellent, we had a great guide who new his stuff, and after taking us to the elephants, made a sudden exit and it a mother leopard and 2 cubs. The bad part for us was not expecting to have to pay for our pickup and return to our hotel..even though in confirmation after paying in trip advisor, it said pick up and drop off included. This cost us another 165 pounds!!! It's a must experience but we had to retire after half a day after a lovely lunch from our guide , as it's exhausting and extremely hot.... As my wife had sunstroke... All in all a great experience....

Complete waste of money.
This was a complete waste of money. There is more chance of winning the lottery than seeing a leopard. We spent the whole day driving around and saw nothing except a couple of jungle fowl. Don't waste your money on this.

Guide raced around Yala
First safari in Yala. Was frustratingly disappointing. Guide seemed to race around the park stopping briefly at animals not giving enough opportunity to take photos, if the guide stopped at all as we drove passed some good photo opportunities. This indeed made a bumpy ride into a really uncomfortable bumpy ride as we were tossed all around the jeep

FABULOUS Afternoon. Saw a majestic LEOPARD
FANTASTIC Experience - Terrific driver. He was extremely alert and very enthusiastic ... eagerly followed the clues and we went back and forth looking for the prized animals. As a result of his determination - and of course a little luck - we did see a full grown male leopard. Also saw an elephant mother with two young ones. And crocs, spotted deer, many birds, many monkeys, monitor lizards... Was a very satisfying trip. One point to be noted though ... somehow, the operator had omitted to send the driver to my hotel by 2.30pm. Knowing the chain - Viator to operator to driver, I knew there might be a slip-up so I'd called up the operator at 1.18pm to confirm. They did confirm and confirmed that someone will pick me up between 2.15pm and 2.30 pm. When no one appeared by 2.45 pm I called again. They apologised and offered to book me for the NEXT day and said it was a technical glitch so they did get the booking. (Clearly this was incorrect as we had spoken) This was upsetting as the only reason to be in Yala for a day was the safari and I could not stay back the next day. However they DID manage to cool me down by saying they will send someone right away and that it was not too late to start. So my final conclusion is that mistakes happen, but the operator did what was necessary to correct the mistake and took urgent steps to make it all work out. I'd recommend a pre-call with booking number and hotel confirmation so that any disappointment is avoided. Am grateful that all went well in the end as it was a fabulous trip.

Why this scores 79
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Galle.
How much does Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park cost?
+
Prices start at $18 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Galle usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Galle is not rushed.
Is Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 285 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Galle, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park?
+
Around 100 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Galle can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Galle and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Leopard Safari Tour in Yala National Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Galle within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Galle?
+
On Outty we rank every Galle experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full day / Half Day WildlifeAdventure in Yala-National-Park, Special leopard & Elephants safari - Yala - 04.30 am to 11.30 am, Sea waves sri lankan cooking class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Galle?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Galle?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
