What you get

    About this experience

Embark on a fully supported teahouse-based trek to the sacred lakes of Gosainkund, situated in the Helambu region, just a day's drive away from Kathmandu. This relatively isolated region is predominantly inhabited by the Tamangs and Helambu Sherpas, who originated in Tibet. A highlight of the trek is a visit to Kyanjin Gompa, a Buddhist monastery located in a spectacular sub-alpine setting at 3800m. Traverse several passes that offer impressive views en route to the sacred lakes of Gosainkund. The trek presents brilliant views of the mighty Langtang (7234m) and Ganesh (7446m) peaks and a sprawl of endless summits over 6000m. Experience authentic cultural interaction in a less-traveled region of the Himalayas while marveling at stunning views and high-altitude lakes.

A Brilliant Trek with Peregrine Treks and Tours

Our Langtang Gosaikunda trek with Peregrine Treks and Tour was absolutely brilliant! Everything was sorted out with loads of care, and our trip was smooth, fun, and full of great memories. Our guide Hari and porters were top-notch—friendly, supportive, and proper professionals. Hari was a star, helping us out not just on the trail but also during our time in Kathmandu. His support made the whole thing easy and enjoyable. All three of us had a cracking time and couldn’t be happier with the excellent service and warm hospitality from Peregrine Treks and Tours. If you’re thinking about coming to Nepal or fancy an adventure like the Langtang Gosaikunda trek, Peregrine is the way to go—they’re ace!

Langtang Gosaikunda: Adventure, Views, and Good Vibes

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek arranged by Peregrine Treks is such an amazing adventure. You get to hike through lush forests, fields with terraced farming, and high-altitude meadows, all while soaking in gorgeous views of snow-capped peaks and the sacred Gosaikunda Lakes. The whole trek is really well put together, with friendly guides and supportive porters making sure you stay safe and comfortable every step of the way. It’s a challenging trek, but totally doable, even if you're not a seasoned trekker. If you’re up for a bit of an adventure and don’t mind pushing yourself a little, I’d definitely say this trek is a fantastic choice. It’s a trip you’ll never forget and totally worth recommending to anyone wanting to experience the Himalayas in a real, meaningful way.

I had an amazing 13-day trekking experience in Nepal organized by Peregrine Treks. Pradip managed everything with great professionalism and care. My guide, Hari Prasad, was outstanding — always positive, attentive, and safety-focused, making every day of the Langtang-Gosaikunda trek memorable. The care and attention to safety provided by the guide were excellent. I am very happy with both the company and the guide. I highly recommend Peregrine Treks, Pradip, and Hari to anyone seeking a trustworthy, well-organized, and authentic Himalayan adventure. Thank you.

Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days cost?

    +

Prices start at $1700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days take?

    +

Plan for about 384 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 384-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 384-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Langtang Gosaikunda Trek - 16 Days start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
